Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29 Just received the frame purchased from user riding_truckee. I’ve been obsessing over this frame for months and happy to have it in the flesh. It’s not as large as you’d guess based on the sizing. The seat post insert depth is shallow as mentioned. I’m using a 1UP 150mm inserted as far as it’ll let me. Up front is a 170mm Yari (2019). My front wheel is currently stuck on another bike with a rounded off thru axle so I cannot sit on the bike yet. I’ll be changing out the stock headset for something more robust as well.

LCFS947 Build (Risky Business) Finished building and preliminary testing the LightCarbon LCFS947 (medium) purchased second hand from user Riding_Truckee. It has been respectfully named "Risky Business" LightCarbon was so kind to allow the warranty to carry over to me as the new owner so +1 to them for doing that. Now that I have over 100 miles on the frame I am posting up my build list as well as feedback.

So far the frame has been great to ride. It climbs better than I imagined such a long travel bike would. Descending is very confidence inspiring as the 170/153 eats up everything I've thrown at it so far. I do currently have an open warranty claim for a creak that has developed and LightCarbon are being diligent in helping me solve it. I'll update once I get that cleared up and more miles on the frame.

Re: LCFS947 Build (Risky Business)
Nice looking bike. I'm very new to the forum.
This post literally made me pull the trigger for this frame, mainly because i got the same exact bike stand and scout 290.
I decided to go with Large frame as i didn't like XL scout, especially unnecessary long seat tube 510mm..
Figured this FS947 looks quite modern. Any comment on seat tube of LC?
I have a brandx dropper 170mm, guess i should swap it to a 125 or 150mm.
I also plan to paint this bike metallic silver. Black for decals and suspension link.
We ride mainly in the mud so it doesn't really matter, but matte finish hard to maintain.

Thanks for your interest and kind words.

First let me say you will love the frame. Its been great to me so far. Already has 2 park days under its belt.

The seat tube as many others has been my biggest complaint at this time. I run a brand x 170 in my Scout funny enough. For this frame I will ultimately end up with a OneUp 90mm as this will be used mostly as a park bike.

I would definitely order one pre painted unless that is a skill you have. But definitely get it painted either way. Silver will look GOOD.

Let me know if you have any questions while you wait for yours to show up.

Re: Carbonda FM1002 or LightCarbon LCFS947 I see you already decided but here to say good choice. I love my 947 as a park bike but it wasn’t a GREAT trail bike.

LCFS958 Build (eventually) I recently had a desire to build a mid travel trail bike to offset use of my LCFS947 that’s become a purpose built park bike.

I ordered the frame 6 days ago and it arrived to my door in the US today. Amazing turn around time for LightCarbon.

The frame was packaged nicely, unfortunately that’s where the nice things stopped.

I’ll preface this with I know what to expect when it comes to quality control and overall fit and finish when it comes to these frames. My 947 was purchased second hand and was in even better condition than this “new” frame I’ve received.

The biggest most glaring concern is the lower eyelets that mount to the top of the shock body are uneven, and the carbon that encases them is just poorly finished. The bearings inserted into them done seem to align either.

There was a chip in the epoxy where the rear triangle banged into the front, not the biggest issue because it’ll happen on the trail but still a bummer. Which the motion of the triangle feels “springy” like if I push it through it’s range of motion it wants to spring into place almost.

The headtube is best put… janky… it’s sharp around  the inner opening. Seems to be either delaminating or other.

All that said I’m sure LC will handle this the right way as I’ve had good experiences with their customer service so far.

Assuming they don’t want it back I’ll still build it up but my confidence will be greatly diminished.

I’ll updated this post once I have feedback from LC. The parts list I’ve compiled is pretty exciting!

Re: Chinese Carbon 29er Pic Thread. Took my LCFS947 to the Bryce Bike Park today. Crossed over 500 miles of strictly park miles. Even running top 6 in lap times on my favorite trail. Terrific bike overall. Yes it’s Singlespeed  ;)

Re: LightCarbon LCFS958 with Remote Lockout build by PMass Great job! Looks like a fun build.

Can’t wait to get started on mine. I had even considered white, good to see it before I make the plunge!

Let us know how it rides!

Re: LCFS958 Build (eventually) Update - LC will be providing a new front triangle to make this all good.

Lots of parts arriving today so I’ll build it as a mock up for now.
