Cyclocross Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Vitus Venon

Anyone snag one of these with the CRC/Wiggle bankruptcy fire sale?  I was very close, had the size in my cart, but was then sold out when I was checking out.  This one still checks the boxes and I wonder if it will resurface as an open mold or with another brand.

I'm 5'5" (165cm) tall.  Anyone my height or shorter riding this frame in size Small?  What length stem you using? Honestly, I'm not about sizing as it has 15mm longer reach than my Enduro bike!  And longer reach than most XC or DC bikes I've seen or tried.  I understand the steep STA helps and the ETT is fine.  But does this bike feel balanced when cornering and do you feel you need to stretch out to properly weight the wheels?

I am consider this frame in 120mm or the Santa Cruz Blur TR (much shorter reach, but slacker STA).

Looks like a good bike, but the seat tubes are at least 20mm too long per size and many would end up running too short dropper posts IMO.

That is asking a ton of a frame really. You will get into problems unless it has a cx bb drop and a 55mm tire on any bike it is asking the world in your wants. Hell with knobs those are massive.

You could just find a cx bike easy to fix the bb drop issues with running 650s but will only get away with probably 47s

Correct, my current bike is technically a CX frame with 70mm BB drop, which I'm fine with.  I was running 170mm cranks and it's fine.  Now that I'm running 160mm cranks I'm sure a 80mm BB drop is fine too, but I don't really have a preference on that really.  Other than grip, the reason I like to run 650b x 2.1" is it gives the same wheel diameter as 700c x 40mm.

Thanks.  Yes, the Aspero did catch my eye.  My current bike gives about the same clearance on 650bx54mm.  I'm good with that, as I won't be riding that bike in the mud.  I'll definitely check out the Aspero at our local shops after my Ironman race this weekend.  The sales are pretty good.  Though, I would prefer frame only.  So I'll have to sell the take off parts.  I'm already running 160mm cranks....love them.

Custom - definitely has cross my mind, not sure I want to go the steel/titanium route.  I can be a weight weenie and my training partner just sold his Moots in favor of full carbon rig.

Same. Looking for spies/answers.  I just spotted this bike/frame.  And it might be the ticket to replace my current Vitus alloy frame as an all-road do anything dropbar bike.  I did get the answer from Vitus that it clears 650b x 47 with 6mm of mud clearance.  Which should mean I can clear 650b x 2.1" with 3mm clearance if not riding in mud.  I'll plan to run everything 700x28c, 700x40c, and 650bx2.1" depending on the setup I need.

Thanks, that one looks interesting, but from the pictures I am doubtful it can clear 650bx2.1".  I know I'm asking a lot  ;D

Hi - help me find my next bike frame!

I'm looking to upgrade my existing do-everything all-road bike - right now it's setup for TT/Triathlon as I have Ironman race coming up, but I've also have had this setup with 27.5x2.1" XC MTB tires!  It would most often be used on all-road/smooth gravel running 700x40c gravel semi-slicks.  My current frame really has great geometry to meet all these needs decently well.  So I'm looking for a carbon mold frame that will have similar geometry and tire clearance.  Here are the main numbers/attributes I'm seeking and here is the full geo chart https://bikeinsights.com/compare?geometries=5cf66199c0d1b6001756e2e6,, of my current bike:

- 700x40c and 650x2.1" tire clearance (limited mud clearance is OK)
- 70-71 HTA
- 74-75 STA
- 420-425 RC/CS
- 385 Reach
- 530-540 ETT

I do like the design of the 3T Exploro quite a lot, but the slack 72.5STA is a deal breaker.  What other all-road / aero-gravel frames do people recommend?

RC 440 mm...
440RC a bit long for my liking since I am size small maybe medium - longer than my enduro sled in fact.  That looks right for L/XL sizing.  Rest of the geo, looks spot on, except the seat tube is also  tad long, so many need will run a shorter dropper post.  Let's see if it get 2nd water bottle mount and how the suspension kinematics playout.

Updated geo chart attached. Longer wheelbase and front-center, higher/less bb drop. Still in production, may be done end of August.

Also, chart shows 46mm offset for the fork but Adam claims 51mm is fine. Fox is currently selling the 34 step cast for $200 off, but only 51mm is available, 44mm sold out.
Nice!  I'm on the short size of Small (5'5" - 165cm).  Not sure I like the longer reach and WB.  The reach is 15mm longer than my Enduro bike.  But I appreciate them keeping it at 67HTA and not go too crazy towards downcountry.  For an XC bike, I'm not to worried about the fork offset.  Enduro forks are running 44 offset for longer stable trail number.  The 51 offset will result in quicker steering which I think it's good for XC.  If you want downcountry go for 44 offset, if you want XC go for 51 offset.

Latest update from Adam about the 120mm version. Currently in testing, almost ready for production, size Large by late July. It will use a 165x45mm Trunnion shock and 46mm offset fork (weird, I guess go for 44?).

Hi, so Carbonda is planning a 120mm version of this frame?  Will it maintain the same geometry or will it get slackened out?

Dear All:

Anyone looking for the Super light 29er full suspension carbon frame?

Our new mold SP-M861 being done, the sample would be available May.

SP-M861 is a 120mm XC race machine that looks as good as it rides. Modern geometry and clever suspension. Size M L XL can install 2 bottle cages

Can the small fit a second water bottle if it's a smaller 600ml bottle?

I just received an FM909 frame. I was deciding between the FM936 and FM909. For a similar performing frame, the FM909 was lighter. Identical geometry between the two frames. And I think the horizontal shock linkage in a Horst Link is often a more progressive leverage ratio than the vertical shock linkage. It probably depends on whether you prefer a slightly progressive, or a slightly linear/ regressive leverage ratio at the bottom of the stroke. Then there is the look of the bike to factor in. To me they were about the same as far as eye appeal.
Do you know if the leverage curve and other suspension kinematics are posted somewhere for either the FM909 or FM936?  I thought I saw them once, but the search here sucks.

Hey, I thought it saw it somewhere before, but are the suspension and leverage curves posted somewhere for the FM909 vs. the FM936?
