Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
hi, dumb question, ordered the 168 frame and wheels. does the frame come with spacers and bearings for the fork and headset or was I supposed to add that to the order as well?

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Finally received my frame and wheels. Ordered early Feb. Picked Metallic Dark Blue, first bike build ever. some notes: VBR-168 / 54 -front brake hole on the lower fork had too much paint and it took a bit of effort to get a cable housing through -paint came out better than expected -panicked a bit when I saw a tiny hole in both the wheels (google says this is a drainage hole and not to be worried) -had to file down one of the raised spacer guides as the underside of the bar was missing a hole. Will pick up some tyres tomorrow and finish the build. cant wait to ride it (currently flooding in Australia) March 08, 2022, 08:32:10 AM |

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
quick update, put on GP5000's with the Velo Build 50mm wheels, still waiting on some Juin Tech brakes to come in over the next few days before I can complete the build. I am also terrible at wrapping bars. March 08, 2022, 09:21:26 PM |

Nice looking bike! Looks familiar ahahha yeah, pretty sure I sent Chris one of your photos for painting purposes. When I saw your build, it was one of the reasons I ordered the frame and wheels. March 09, 2022, 08:19:26 AM |

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Very nice! Did some test laps today, took 5 seconds off an effort averaging 29 less watts, the thing i noticed the most was how fast it accelerated compared to the Triban. March 11, 2022, 07:22:41 AM |

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Nice bike Ollie,, well done on the build! What are the chances 2 triban users upgraded to the 168.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
managed to get it free, alternating taps from the nose to the rear of the saddle upwards managed to free it March 20, 2022, 10:39:29 PM |

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
I finally received my my frame, and my initial impressions are pretty negative. I don't know if this is an outlier but there seem to be quite a few little issues. Have you sent these photos to Velobuild? that kind of looks pretty rough to me, does the front thru axle screw in all the way? and the seat post sits flush on mine. April 08, 2022, 06:13:20 PM |

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Chiming in here as someone who bought in Feb and built up the bike in March, one of the spacers was missing a hole to accept the tab from the spacer below so I had to file down the tab. Also the front brake hole in the fork had a little too much paint which I filed back slightly. Have put the bike through its paces, 1200w+ sprints, 60kph+ descents and haven't had any issues with the bike. Hopefully for Velobuild they address these QC issues and hope you guys get looked after.
