Title: Rubber/silicon plugs for covering unused mounting points?
Post by: hahel on January 22, 2024, 04:14:59 AM
Hi all,

I'm looking for those mushroom shaped rubber/silicon plugs to cover up unused mountingbosses on my gravel frame,
but my Ali searchskills are failing me  :).

Anyone out there that has a link or a good searchterm to share?

Search for "car plastic rivets 5mm". They are also used to hold interior lining in cars.

It's already been solved and all, just some alternative options to plug holes of that kind:

I went for the aluminium screw option on my GF-002. like these https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004389231856.html
A little dab of grease on the threads just in case and they're done.
They weight next to nothing and dont come out when the bike gets washed. Recommended :-)

Oh and I just remembered that there are also plugs available for almost any sized frame bolt hole https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002952659495.html

Just in case you also tried these - did you aim to match the core diameter or the nominal thread size / external diameter (slightly over-sized plug, more press fitty)?
