That is getting ridiculous, like the 936 became fatter with age. They still call it super light. I believe it’s to avoid crash replacements but it’s not a good policy

Re: Carbonda FM909 Hi all!

The information will be useful for those who want to buy a 120mm link separately for the 909 frame.

The new link is a little thicker than the old one and does not fit into the stays with the original washers. The situation was repeated on three 909 frames with new links. During installation, one of the frames cracked.
To properly install a new link, you need to grind spacer washers of a different thickness (the photo shows my washers, which were made for me in the workshop)

We wrote to Carbonda, we will wait for a response

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts 165x42.5mm will not fit without the 120mm linkage, which the Vitus never used.  I was able to make rocker to seat tube contact without much effort.

Re: HongFu FM138 Finished my build. I am absolutely loving this machine. I'm still tweaking a bit, but still very happy. Tweaking so far includes going with a different bar, the rear sus was a little too compliant for my taste so added the larger token and I think it's good. I want to make the front a little more compliant so will see what's in there for tokens, planning to remove one. I was expecting this build to be good, but I wasn't expecting to love it so much.

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts I made a quick comparative test with the 120mm rocker versus the original one.

I use a 42,5 shock and a 120mm fork. I just changed the rocker, same pressure in shock, SAG is nearly the same anyway, no adjustement on the bike settings.

The impressions you can expect by geometry changes are confirmed. You are more on the bike than in the bike, position for pedaling is in my case better, and bike feels more lively. Around the sag i feel it's a bit more supportive without losing comfort.
About driving what was predictable due to higher BB and steeper HA is confirmed, cornering is more lively, you lean and it turns faster.

If you ride mainly flat and prefer a XC feeling, i would recommend the 120mm rocker+120fork. 100mm fork+classic rocker gives probably equivalent sensation with more stability thanks the overall lower bike.

If your terrain is made of steep descents or fast corners (for example bike park)where you want stability i would go with 120fork+classic rocker.
