Can you tell me what size I need for the damper bushing?

Some people are tight with 22.2mm. Others have a little bit of play with the same width. The best thing to do is wait for the frame a measure by yourself with a good caliper.

I found this one:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/143042612579

Is is the right one?

Yes, this shock will work according to what everyone has posted here. Trunnion, 165mm eye to eye and a maximum of 42.5mm stroke.

what makes DVO the new god ?

Old people from Marzocchi doing what they were best know for before the Fox buyout. Their loyal followers are still there. It's a bit like when protestantism was created...same god and all. ;)

One of the problems with owning Trickstuff is you are out of the brake conversation.

Anytime a new brake comes out you might start to read about it and get excited. But then you look at your bike and go "I'm good" like forever.

It's just a bit sad that you need a second mortgage to buy them! :)

That is a good point on the shipping. DHL they are quoting me is $190. Maybe I will do it. But the chiner frame appeal - no warranty, no support, just good enough for a year, trash it afterward, is maximum for me at $1000usd for frame and shock.

I've done 10,844.0 km on my IP-036 in 4 summers so far and the bike frame just don't want to die yet. I destroyed a rear wheel/derailleur/hanger, snapped a shock bolt, bottomed the damn thing many many many times and so far no sign of failure. I think you underestimate the quality of those open mold frames.

Same weight, same number of spokes, same depth. Looks all the same to me.

Problem???:
The rear triangle doesnt have a smooth movement, it has a force to keep it "open".
I already loose the all the bolts and "force" remains. It is normal? Any suggestion?

I would expect some resistance when going through the travel since it relies on flex stays.

Most (if not all) chiner use IS42/IS52 headsets so there is no angle sets that will fit there unfortunatly. There isn't enough space for it to work. The only option would be to use a thicker crown race but then you also mess with BB height.

I find your post to be HIGHLY offensive and completely inappropriate for this, or any forum.

And I laughed my ass off.

Inappropriate, maybe a bit. Funny, no doubt about it!

Anyone able to find a shock with remote for this frame? 165x42.5 Trunnion Remote sizes are listed for both Rock Shox Deluxe and Super Deluxe, but apparently it's not available to retail (and of course the Fox DPS used in the NS Bikes, but that's not even listed on the Fox site)

Would a shock with piggyback even fit in the frame?

DT Swiss is now making one in 168x40 and 168x45 but not 168x42.5.

I've been using my Dengfu FM-098 frame since 2012 and it's been perfect so far. Some comments at the time I bought it were that it was a bit too stiff to be a good endurance bike. I never felt any flex on it even when standing up and hammering hard. I know there are better looking frames now but I see no reason to change.

My wheels are from Farsports built around Ed Hubs using ceramic bearings. Can't fault them either, they are still as true as new. Over the years, I bought carbon rims for my mountain bikes from Lightbicyles, Carbonspeed and carbonbicycle.cc. I always got a quality product.  Nextie seems to be a big player now but their price is higher most of the time.

it's not hard, but you might need specialized tools for some things

you can buy BB installation/removal cups cheaply, make a headset/bb/bearing press with duct tape and chopsticks, but things like facing BB/headtube/brake mounts, which is often required, are better done by a qualified person with proper instruments

This frame has a pressfit BB, so no facing required. I also never had to face my brake mounts. Headsets on those chiner frame are most of the time the drop-in type so no need for any press there. You just need to tap the race on the fork with a PVC pipe or something similar. To me, the worst part is routing the brake cables through the frames because, unless you have the Formula Cura brakes with detachable lines, you will need to mess with brake fluid for sure (be it just a little drop or a full mess).

I'm thinking more about using an 8mm OD bolt assembly and adapt it with two pieces of 10mm OD 8mm ID stainless tube each side of the hardware kit bushings. I might need two washers also. But overall, at least I know it can be done and that I can source the parts to do it.

To be frank, the harder part of all this will be to convince my better half that I need a new bike frame. My IP-036 just refuse to die whatever I do to it! :)

I got this on mail.

Thank you! So this confirms what I was thinking. Now only one question is left unanswered. :)
