Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: TanTan TT-X21 frame
« on: April 12, 2021, 09:25:32 AM »
Thanks for the tip! We're in lockdown, and will be for a while, so I can't get a fit and want to get going.

I see now I wrote wrong, I meant 52 or 54. The seller has pointed me towards a 54. Would you then say to go for 52?

I'm 178cm, but with 89cm inseam and ride 54 with a 90mm stem.
So 54 should still be good. Short legs is not a problem with bikes :)

Here is my bling build !

The weather isn't very nice here, so only two ~70km rides so far.
But I loved every instant of them, a smile from one ear to the other, even once when I crashed it :o

Not sure if it is the geometry, the full suspension, the seatpost or the electronic shifting in particular, but this has little in common with my past hardtail riding.

It is a size M SL.
OG-Evkin bar
Ligthbicyle XC925 wheelset with DT-Swiss EXP 240.
XX1 AXS derailleur + Blipbox + Multiclics
SID Ultimate 120mm and SIDLuxe shock 42.5mm
Piccola brakes
Reverb AXS
2.35 tires.
And 10,1kg

The commands are, left click easier gear, right click harder gear.
Click on both for the seatpost.

I was hoping for a more greenish blue, than this reddish one, but I start to get used to it  ::)

I'm still testing different 3D printed mounts for the blips for different positions.
For now the cables are taped below the bar, my plan was to make them go through the bar end and exit through one of the mount holes.
But there was some sun, and I preferred to go ride than work more on it. Maybe later.

I think you have enough torso for both.

If you prefer comfort, take the 52.
The handlebar will be higher relative to the saddle.

If you are more on the race side and flexible, you could take the 50 with a long stem, but ending more cramped.

A real bike fit session, made by a good person would make you sure.

You can only use the wrench.

But a press will allow you to replace the bearings.
Look for Muzqi on aliexpress.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Chinese cycling clothes
« on: April 08, 2021, 03:34:41 AM »
I'm personally not a big fan of tight cycling shirts, I'm usually on long sleeves shirts, like this Columbia or The North Face shirts (see picture). But these are kinda expensive. I wonder if anyone here knows some cheap Chinese alternatives.

But...but... Flappy clothes is the worst you can do for your aero performances ;)

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Flared gravel drop bars

The Wahoo interface is almost identical to the Garmin one, it's just rotated 90 degrees. I've had issues with Chinese mounts before because they assumed you could just use the Garmin interface. However, the mount also has to support the 90 degree rotation. If not, the Wahoo computer isn't straight.
You have 4 holes each at 90°, so you can turn the mount in the direction you want

People are honest in general.
And the website seems legit at first sight.
Just be patient, and worry only if it gets definitely bad.

Thank you for trying a new provider not already discussed here  ;)
If you wanted more peace of mind, there are dozens of reliable providers discussed all over this forum.

That doesn't seem to support Wahoo?
You can find the corresponding Wahoo interface on Ali.
For instance this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001757937782.html
In general they have all 19mm bolts diameter, but better ask the seller.

@carbonazza: Do you have that bar? I've considered it before, but according to the tech drawing, the clamp area is only 5cm wide, which isn't enough to clamp a computer mount next to the stem. Also, Carbonda lists the reach as 93.8mm on their website vs. 80mm on the drawing, both of which are too large for me.

6 cm I would say.
Did you( and Zilcho ;) ) consider a frontal mount, like this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000409237249.html ?
It makes a nicer cockpit and the gopro mount can be used to attach a light.

The reach is 80mm and the drop is 120mm for my 400mm model.

Many riders bought cheap Elite Wheels, they are great

I'm always wary with Pilar nipples, a quick look in the comments show a guy that broke two of them after five rides.
Maybe they provide brass nipples on request.
Not sure about their hubs, but it looks all hubs coming in Ali are now DT-Swiss-ized.
Other than that, yes great price !

@mtbluvr68, Would you mind sharing the attachment as well?
Not sure I understand the single, two or seven people thing.
And the monthly limit either  :o

855
Maybe it depends, on the frame.

Another option...
PappaZ here tried to go direct to Flybike, arranged the shipping with WXY himself.
And happily got his frame.

Did you have positive results with that?
I tried it recently and the answer I got was that frames not yet offered by Carbonda themselves are either old designs, or proprietary moulds.
