How did you guys find the balance between over- and under tightening the headset. I seem to have headsetplay but when I tighten it to the point where the play is gone, my steerer isn't moving freely anymore and makes a scratching sound when turning it. I just can't seem to find the sweet spot.

Any tips would be appreciated  :D

Has anyone been able to use the $80 off coupon yet (anniversary sale)?

Narrow bars, full integrated frames and electronic shifting are fantasy, but hey your money!

Narrow bars fantasy? I think it's fairly easy to understand that (when you are not a really big rider) a 38cm handlebar is gonna lower your surface area quite a bit comparing with a 44cm handlebar, and thus saving you some watts (and you might actually be able to feel the difference ;)). Next to these savings, for the majority of people, a 38-42cm handlebar will feel way more comfortable than a 44-46cm one, especially when just riding on asphalt.

- it seems like the spacing is off on the rear. There is 3-4mm more clearance on the drive side than non driveside. When L45er measured the tire clearance earlier that seemed to be the case on their bike too. Ive tried a few different wheels and they all line up the same.

I recently received my frame and it has the same problem but worse, the difference in clearance between drive and non-drive side is about 1cm. I messaged Airwolf on Ali express because 1) it just looks bad and 2) it might cause some problems when mounting 40mm tyres.

While waiting for a response I initiated a dispute because the 15 day period was coming to an end. Airwolf asked for a lot of pictures, mainly from the derailleur hanger and then stated a bike shop could fix the problem for $50. This made no sense to me as they didn't even give a solution or cause for the problem. In the meantime Ali offered a $70 refund as the solution. I did not agree and explained it would not be easy for my LBS to fix this problem (don't even know what and how he would need to fix this as Airwolf gave no explanation).

Now Airwolf has offered me to send a new frame (good!) but they are asking to close the dispute if I agree. This seems really fishy to me, do you guys have any tips or advice?

Thanks in advance!

Got an answer this morning: 'I have arranged for a logistics provider to transport the goods '. Guess that means it will be shipped soon, we'll see  ;D

I asked them once again, will keep you posted if I get an answer (probably after the weekend).

I'm in the same situation as you but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. I ordered on 11.11 (yfr68 frame painted) as well so I think they just had a massive increase in orders (at least that's what I hope). Also, when ordering, Ali gave me an estimated delivery date of 30/01 so I'm not worrying too much as of now.

Elitewheels edge, rd13 ratchet system hub (non ceramic), 45mm height, shimano version.

They have been shipped in the meantime as well, way faster than I thought.

I got a set (non ceramic bearings) for 478 euros shipped to Belgium on 11 november. Leon offered me 570 euros for a set (same specs) at first, and later he offered me 510 euros when I said the 11.11 deal was cheaper. In the end Ali was still cheaper for me (because of the coupons and discounts).

Component Deals & Selection / yuananbike forged gravel wheels
« on: November 07, 2023, 08:02:58 AM »
Hi all, yuananbike is offering some good deals on their wheelsets at the moment because of 11.11. I have been looking at their GRO2 gravel wheels (wich come in at about 470 dollars shipped to europe).

The one thing I'm unsure about is the forged rim finishing. It looks really nice but does it have any disadvantages in comparison with the standard Uni Directional weaving? I can't find a lot about this on google, anyone with experience on this topic?

Second option are their UNI rims (essentially the elite edge wheels), but they are about 100 dollars more expensive and I'm worried they might be cheaper on Ali if the 11.11 sale and coupons drop. Any help and tips are greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi all, maybe a stupid question but I'm gonna ask it anyway  :).

I have been eyeballing a frameset and a pair of wheels (elite edge disc) on aliexpress. I'm wondering if it would be smart to wait untill the 11.11 sale to buy these, the wheels would come in at around 580 euro's at the moment (with extra 'party time' discount) but i've seen people on this forum getting them for 500-550.

Has the 11.11 sale been worth it the last years? Thanks!

Question for you @Honda, can I use all the Airwolf spacers etc with the cervélo stem? I can buy the cervélo alu stem second hand for 40 euro's (wich I trust more than the airwolf one) but without the spacers.

Thanks in advance!

Haha I understand what you're saying but looking at it like that, you could go as far as buying a second hand V brake cx bike, wich will also do the job  ;) but it's not what I'm looking for. An adventure gravel bike feels significantly different as compared to a performance based gravel bike, I don't think there's much discussion about that. If I want to race, I want to give myself the best chance at riding a good result and I think the bike plays a role in that (you are definitely right that the legs are far more important).

I guess as Zilcho is saying, finding a frame with all these properties may be impossible in the current oem market...

I will keep looking around and all suggestions are welcome!

Yes this could be an option. The thread is however scaring me a bit, the frame seems to have quite some small issues (fork rubbing, saddle post not inserting) whereas the carbonda frame was spotless. I will give it a look though, thanks!
