Re: FS830 Enduro Frame - Stef Biggel’s build
The headset ZTTO and the Bottom bracket BB92 from ZTTO wasn‘t spectacular to implement. All the Pockets fitting well.

I Build in a Fox 36 Performance OEM Fork with 170mm travel

My beakes are Magura MT7 with Shimano XT lever. The connection wirh Jagwire QF works realy fine:

So long guys, today the carbon Rims are arrived… i have to do some builing job now ✌

Did you replace the bearings in the ZTTO BB? They’re known for failing very quickly. When I was going to build a Haideli frame (831/830), I got a set of the replacement Enduro Bearings you need from
Wheels Manufacturing; it’s part number SB-24X37, with two 24x37 sealed bearings.

Even after replacing the bearings the ZTTO bottom bracket is still cheaper than the Wheels Mfg version so it’s not a terrible deal.

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056
Based on your experience and that of others and after a long period of research, I've decided to go with the CFR 1056 frame. I've sent an email to info[at]carbonda.com a few days ago expressing my interest in buying a frame from them. I haven't heard anything since and I'm now wondering if there's a better way of contacting them? I'm also not sure how much I should be paying when negotiating.

From what Wing told me recently, they’ve been very busy and a lot of their frames have been selling out, plus with Chinese New Year’s I’d be expecting to wait a little while. They almost certainly will get back to you soon.

Just an FYI, I had to wait for about a month after placing my order and paying before my FM1002 shipped.

Re: FM1002 / FM1166 - 150mm frame I might email BetterBolts and see if any of their existing Transition shock bolts are that size (their product pages don’t always specify size, just what bike/product they fit). Oil slick Ti would be a nice replacement, but matching head shapes might be important too.

As for shock tuning, with the 1002’s kinematics you probably want to run the bladder as low as possible, 170-175PSI, and only adjust it up if you see a clear reason. That’s what I run on my GT Force and it’s a bit higher leverage/less progressive. I think I’ll probably run one positive spacer on my Force this year, two on the 1002, and no negative spacers on either because they just make the top harsher and don’t change the sag point much unless you’re very close to max PSI.

Re: L-TWOO RX 2x12 road groupset
I'll be interested to see what gets announced by either them or others at the Shanghai Bike Show in May.  Pretty sure we'll see commercial availability of wireless electronic MTB drivetrains announced by a couple of brands.  Maybe 2023 for road.

Off brand wireless shifting and dropper posts sound great, given the insane prices SRAM is charging. Almost $900 for a seatpost?! GTFOH.

Re: FM1002 / FM1166 - 150mm frame I’ve been talking to BetterBolts and their 8x40mm Transition shock bolt should fit the 1001/1002….I’m going to order two, one in black and one in oil slick, so I can check for sure. Will let you know what the pricing is, and post pics when my frame arrives.

Re: FM1002 / FM1166 - 150mm frame Cost for two titanium 8x40 shock bolts was $30 shipped. Not cheap for a couple of two piece bolts obviously, but for me the extra confidence and the color choices are worth it.

All you have to do to place a special order like this is to email them and ask for the 8x40 Transition shock bolt. They’ll send you an web invoice link to complete the order.

One of the first things I’ll do after my frame arrives and I’ve been able to check/grease the bearings is to mount the shock with the new bolts and take some pics of both the stand-out oil slick look and the stealth black.

Re: Carbonda FM 1003 / Flybike FM 1266 180mm "Super Enduro"
Going through the diagram drawings of the FM1003.  Rear shock specs = 205x65 = 180mm travel.  Is this correct for 180mm rear travel or have they made a typo?

FM1002 rear shock is 150mm- 200x60

That’s correct — or rather close, both shocks are 205 trunnion but have 60 and 65mm stroke respectively. The leverage ratios and curves on the two are a bit different.

Re: Titanium bolts If you want a trusted US domestic source, there’s always BetterBolts. I expect to source a bunch of pieces from them this year, starting with a shock bolt for my new FM1002.

Re: FM1002 / FM1166 - 150mm frame My large frame arrived today in perfect condition, nicely packaged. I’ll start my own build thread soon but will have a few questions for the general thread first.

Starting with: I’d been planning to start with a solid post to get my height dialed before installing a dropper but am hesitant to remove the dropper cable guide.

Any suggestions on how to handle that? I was thinking about leaving it in place and placing the far end of the guide inside the solid post for now.

I won’t really be doing any real rides like that, just pedaling in the driveway to dial in the height —
And even that probably won’t happen for weeks, we’re pretty snowbound in Maine right now.
