Re: Road-Gravel-Bikepacking-Bike I built (okay, I still need to bleed the brakes and put in sealant but it's 95% complete) a 696 for the same purpose and also had the idea to use Lighterpack. Here's my build for inspiration. Note that weight might be ~200g off because I got too impatient and installed the components before weighing them like the tires so I'm using the retail weight.
Hope it inspires you. Also note that I took a very expensive custom paint. Yours might be a lot less.

My 2cts about the wheel questions:
Centerlock 1000%. Fuck 6bolt. And get the HG tool lock, not BB lock
The hub depends on the cassette you will get, not the groupset. You can get microspline or XD cassettes to run with LTWOO, it's up to you. It just needs to be compatible with the cassette.
I sourced both of my wheelsets on the used market, I'm happy about both and might upgrade to carbon later. Anything with DTSwiss 350 hubs is good imo. I also considered Carbonda wheels but I changed my mind when I was told shipping the wheels would be extra.

Also my opinion, as much as I'm excited for LTWOO hydraulic unless you find them at MSRP I wouldn't bother. I bought my GRX groupset before it was anounced but I don't regret it. There's a good chance you can find GRX new (mine was stripped from a new bike) for about the same price as LTWOO if not cheaper.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Oh dang, all sizes were in stock yesterday! Regarding the thru axles, they are the usual 12x100 and 12x142 but not sure if they are included in the package. Sent them a mail but haven't heard anything yet.

Lucky for you I asked an unrelated question that got lost in translation so they sent me the axle dimensions instead... Which I didn't need but I guess it's an up to date spec lol.

I think those are Carbonda's own that they updated because they did not use to specify a torque spec.

If you already have a frame and want a third party here you go:

The sizes are 12*171*m12 and 12*121*m12

I bought another version with handles and it's not worth it to me. I put my axles with handles for sale and will be upgrading to those when they sell.

Also, some people say that the big ones don't do 24 mm aluminium axle for a reason.

IIRC some manufacturers have now found an alloy/structure that allows 24mm to be sturdy enough but yes, they have a history of failure. On those cranks it's not the spindle that is the issue though. Seriously, I think the chinese could easily make the holy grail of cranksets with proven standards and configurations but I'm still waiting  :-\

Re: Chinese cycling clothes
A lot of these chinese brands have a really small chamois vertically, if i compare them to my nopinz or blacksheep their chamois are far superior especially if you get into an aero position.

I've relegated my spexcel ybyk(?) bibs to shorter rides 1 hour max.

Felt the opposite on my spexcel bibs. They go pretty much from my tailbone to above my junk. A lot more than my castelli and van rysel bibs

Re: 3D Latex Mandrel technology I don't understand the confusion. There are holes at the headset, seattube and BB? Is that not wide enough to take off the bladder?

Re: RYET freehubs?
I mean: what are you going to do when you need parts for the hub? Hope you find them on Aliexpress and you don't have to wait more than a month?
The only replaceable parts I can think of on a hub are bearings, the ratchet rings and the freehub body, all of which should be easy finds from third party, I don't think they are proprietary?

Re: Carbonda Gravel Carbon frame CFR707 How is the toe overlap with the 707? It's horrible on my 696. Size 54 frame, size 44 shoes and even after giving up my beloved midfoot cleat position the toe overlap is ridiculous. Can't really steer at low speeds

Re: Chinese cycling clothes
I ordered this windvest and it arrived a couple of days ago. Did my first ride with it today and it is really nice. A little bit warm with 2 extra layers under it for the 13 °C we have here but it was OK. I took a S for my 172cm and 64 kg and it is a tight fit but I like it that way and I knew when I ordered it would be this way since the measurements are on the product page.

2 layers plus a windvest for 13°? Can't imagine what you would wear below 0  ;D

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Funny sight on chinacycling's latest video

https://www.pandapodium.cc/

Pandapodium is now live. Compared 6 articles and to my big surprise they were all on par or CHEAPER than aliexpress, and have free shipping? Seems amazing on paper

Re: Shimano crank power meter There are minimal differences for the crank itself. 105 5800 is not gonna be too much worse than R8100. I'd recommend watching GPLama tests before buying but afaik all of these brands make good crank PMs
I would recommend looking at american brands too, 4iiii and stages. They're almost as cheap really.

I have 2 105 powermeter cranks that I bought from bike24, 202€ and 178€ respectively. They go on sale quite often
