For me the lightweight/aero VeloBuild VB-R-268 paired with Magene EXAR Ultra wheels has been awesome so far.

That looks ace!

Is that a magene crankset too? What group set are you using?

Hi all,

I’m new to the scene, I know Winspace, Elves and Yoeleo produce decent stuff, I’m also aware of Velobuild and their offerings but what are some of the more universally loved frames? I’m predominantly looking for a aero frame set but I’m interested in anything really, so what are the more popular and commonly loved framesets?

Thanks

Yes and yes. But buying the shifters and derailleurs without the caliper makes little sense/might be more expensive than buying the whole thing. Also if you have R7000 the brake calipers are pure trash in my experience. R7100 was a giant upgrade

Yeah I’d buy the whole kit and keep the unused bits as spare - although I do have the R7000 so I might check out the new calipers.

I have a canyon endurace cf7 with 105.. Reckon the battery will fit in the seatpost? Also - can I do away with the calipers and retain the 105 brake setup?

Any recommendations for a decent lightweight frame?

Not really sure tbh! Just been window shopping and pricing things up, probably about 2k on a build but can go upwards from there

Not sure where do go with this now - looking at using an LTWoo Erx but wanting to track power and prioritise weight (pick one I guess) as it’s a climbing build. Does anyone know of a crankset that would fit the case? Or just a light crankset? I can look into pedal based PMs if easier

Can the supplied BB be discarded and a fresh Shimano branded one be used (as long as it’s to BB386 spec?) if so are threaded/press fit BBs interchangeable? Sorry for the stupid questions I’m new to building bikes.

Thanks!

Hi All,

New here, looking to build up a bike using an Elves Vanyar, I want it to be on the lighter side of things but also want to record my power output, I’m at a loss on the compatibility side of things as I’m new to building - the elves Frameset comes with a “either a BB386 -24R Shimano compatible, BB386-29R SRAM DUB or BB386-30R Rotor bottom bracket.”, I want to pair carbon chainrings (looking at the riro GXP ones) with a magene PES p505, would this be possible?

Thanks!
