Sales & Classifieds / LTWOO eRX Group with box and batteries - $700CAD
« on: December 28, 2023, 07:12:50 PM »
Hey all,

It's been a minute since I've been on the forums.

If anyone is interested,  I'm selling some LTWOO eRX groups on my site this week for $700CAD (~$530USD)
Free shipping within Canada, but you gotta pay your GST/HST.

As far as I can tell, this is a fair bit cheaper than any vendor on AliX with a fraction of the shipping time, and without the potential communication issues or the hassle of having to source batteries (you are on your own for mineral oil though)

I'm just shooting it out here, as if there is any crowd that understands the pros and cons of this set, it'd be this crowd.
I'm torn in this group as the issues exposed do not align with my user experience. I am using the group myself and love it,  but I've only used it for a couple hundred kms. So, take my opinion with a grain of salt.

They are all new and come with manufacter warranty.

DM if interested,  or just go to https://1sigma.cc/products/copy-of-elitewheels-marvel-road?_pos=1&_sid=280809a86&_ss=r

Cheers
Alan

For everyone's reference,  the UNI carbon layup is the one used for the Drive wheels.

Also,
I have an issue of not measuring twice and cutting once.
The front brake hose was cut too long.

Does anyone know if Shimano BH90 olives are compatible with the LTWOO?

Thanks!

Air screw is fine to use.
Here's how used the second (air) screw.

keep the caliper bleed valve closed.
Syringe on the hood bleed screw normally used for the cup.
Open and remove the air screw.
Push fluid from syringe very lightly.
Fluid will come out of the air hole. So have towel ready.
Put air screw back on. Remove syringe and put bleed screw back on.
Clean any mess.

I have no idea how to use a cup on the bleed hole and open the air screw.

Remember to unscrew the adjustment grub screw on the level anytime you bleed the brakes. So you fully release the piston to fill the valve. That way you have the best chance of getting the firmest feel. You may still need to tighten up the grub screw.

It's been a minute since I've been on here.  I am in the midst of testing an eRX (1 of 5 sets) and for the life of me, cannot get the rest of the air out.
Going to use this tip in addition to some bicycle gymnastics.

Wheel Top is wireless and L-TWOO should be semi-wireless with a seatpost battery ala Shimano

nothing concrete yet on pricing, weight and release date

It's been a minute since I've been on the forum, and this is exactly the news I was hoping to see

Maybe an electronic version by summer?

Apparently, either everyone is named Chris there or there is one person that never sleeps and responds within a few hours and is pretty nice to work with

I've come to the conclusion that Chris is an idea. A mindset. A philosophy...

I recently had an issue with my front disc carbon wheel and I contacted Elite Wheels via Amazon (where I bought them). I sent pictures and the serial number. Since my wheels were still under the 1000 day warranty coverage, they said they would send me a new front wheel. Unfortunately it seems their production is backed up and they're shipping wheels as they get built. So there's a 12-14 day wait. I probably won't see the wheel until next year, but I'm wondering if buying through Amazon made them more responsive regarding warranty coverage? I'm a bit paranoid buying wheels from AliExpress and I'd rather pay a little extra and get my wheels within the same week from a local distribution warehouse. Anyways, crossing fingers I get my new wheel!

Yea, where possible,  I always buy direct from the company if they have a site,  like Elite.  Even better if you can get from a local distributor who can handle warranty claims #shamelessplug

What about braking performance of 50V? Have you ever tested Fulcrum/Campagnolo AC3 brake track to have a comparison?

Hi there,
I personally haven't tried it, as I ride disc but customer feedback has been positive.

The rim version of the wheelset is a bit heavier than rhe disc version, as it it built-up more to accommodate a robust brake track.
It has a siped surface, which is designed to improve braking in wet conditions.
Hambini has also commented on its effectiveness. Stating:
"The rims feature a grooved brake track. This has a dramatic effect on braking efficiency and it is very noticeable, especially in the wet. The initial bite with the Elite wheels is extremely good. The system is similar to the brake track found on the Farsports wheels."

I hope this helps

I switched from a RiderAce Carbon mount (which was 100% terrible) to a TrustFire mount
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004528466269.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.47293b342fbbyl&algo_pvid=7c54dda6-bfd9-44e7-a1a0-cb2d4024b5cc&algo_exp_id=7c54dda6-bfd9-44e7-a1a0-cb2d4024b5cc-10&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22sku_id%22%3A%2212000029487079639%22%7D&pdp_npi=2%40dis%21CAD%2128.66%2122.35%21%21%21%21%21%40210318d116684535570853361e4191%2112000029487079639%21sea&curPageLogUid=A9xlTg9htmey

Well thought out design.   I especially like how:
1) the action mount is set closer to the handlebar reducing leverage
2) the flashlight comes with a convenient toggle to lock/unlock the light from the mount

at 450lumen the light could be brighter though.  Totally fine for urban riding, or anywhere with street lamps.

T55J = High tensile modulus, but low tensile strength.

I am not a carbon-fibre expert, but my understanding is that when a bike frame is marketed as T1000, it only means that some T1000 is used in the frame, not that it is 100% T1000.
I've heard from a carbon frame manufacturer that any given carbon frame is going to use a combination of different types of carbon fibre, in different weaves (and UD) in different layups, because they will lend different different physical properties to the finished frame.
I could be way off on this, but its not always a case of "more expensive is better"

Of course, as I mentioned, not an expert - feel free to correct if I am off-base on this one.

Vendor Discussion & Reviews / Re: SUNRIMOON Helmets
« on: November 14, 2022, 12:49:03 PM »
For my store, the helmets are a bit of a bust.  Outside of those who regularly shop on AliX, such as us here, not much interest in helmets from China (which should have come as no surprise)

As for SUNRIMOON itself, the interactions could have been better.  I feel like a combination of them still figuring stuff out, and them offloading on to me - packaging came in different iterations from different generations.  The helmets themselves had different iterations for the same model.  For instance their TS-42 helmets arrived with different pads, retention, and fastening buckle depending based on updates they made to the helmet.
They also sent a handful of incorrect helmets, but did throw in a kids helmet for free for my daughter.

And for a small guy like me, ease of working with a supplier is just as important as the product itself.

The helmets themselves are fine.  I really like the current iteration of the TS-42, with anti-microbial pads, fidlock magnetic buckle, and greater retention system adjustability.

So, I'll be keeping some for personal use, and offloading the rest at cost to recoup some capital and deploying elsewhere.

BTW - It's still recommended that you setup your wheels with tubeless tape with these TPU tubes. Which I don't mind, because the wheels will be ready if I do swap to tubeless tires.

It's actually quite astonishing how many folks do not know that you need to tape your rims even if you are running tubes.

I sell the RideNow tubes, and they are OK.  They are fine, but not blown away.  You really have to be careful setting them up, or you risk a slow leak puncture before you get out the door (I've screwed this up twice on a 19mm internal width wheels).

As far as I can tell (and I could be wrong), the patch kit is basically the typical rubber cement with TPU patches.   The patch material being the big difference.   Some people have claimed success with the Park Tool Super Patch - I have found they don't stick well enough.  Good enough to get you home though...

They are super light, and great to have in roadside kits whether you run tubes or run tubeless.
My personal preference is now tubeless, as I see no real advantage to tubes anymore other initial set-up and as a roadside repair option.

I've tried X-Tiger and Souke, which are quite mediocre, although the X-Tiger Thermal set is actually quite warm
Spexcel, so far, has done right by me and is my current go-to for affordable kit.

Giving these guys a shot right now.  Not exactly in the AliX price range though.  Wanted to see how a premium brand targeting only the domestic Chinese market fares compared to the budget stuff sold to the international market on AliX.
Most of the stuff I got from them is Summer kit, so real telling how they are until next year.  Will put in some trainer miles on them though....

The NG, on my road bike for 3 years now.
It is very basic. No app. Nothing fancy, just some arcane operations combining a led signal with putting/removing the charging cable a few sec.

The rubber plug of the charging port is a joke, and I lost it after a few rides.

It is as reliable as the Sigeyi and Quarq on my other bikes. They always work.
But I find the p2max quite ugly, compared to the other two 8)

It failed just once. After a flight, it didn't start at my first ride.
And needed to be recharged, although I did recharge it before the trip.
Other trips later didn't have any problem.

Seems like the only brand more or less with consist positive reviews is the Sigeyi.
