Title: Workswell WCB-G 358
Post by: Milo on March 23, 2023, 08:04:27 AM
Hi,
I'm Luca from Italy!

I want to share with you my new frameset, i know there is already a topic with this frameset but is difficult to "identify" it.  ;D

First of all i placed the order on 13 February, today 23 March the frame was painted and ready to ship.

Here the geometry chart:
(https://thumbs4.imagebam.com/ad/e2/bb/MEJP00Z_t.jpg) (https://www.imagebam.com/view/MEJP00Z)

And some pics of the painted frame:
(https://thumbs4.imagebam.com/f3/ce/6b/MEJP00U_t.jpg) (https://www.imagebam.com/view/MEJP00U)

(https://thumbs4.imagebam.com/ff/57/9c/MEJP00X_t.jpg) (https://www.imagebam.com/view/MEJP00X)

Glossy white with top tube in raw carbon (glossy) finished. But i think they made it black  ::)

My size is 56.
BSA bottom bracket.

I will complete it with (from previous bike):

-Shimano 105 R7020 2x11 hydraulic
-FSA SL-K 46/30 with power2max
-Kocevlo Integrated gravel handlebar (44x100)

For wheels & tyre combo i have (from previous bike)
-Hunt 35mm Gravel carbon wheels - 700c
-Farsport 40mm Gravel carbon wheels with dt swiss 350hub - 650b

Will keep update when i received the frame and start the building.

From matte to glossy black paint...
To match the upper top tube colorway.

Hello Luca,

That's a nice frame.
Unfortunately Workswell didn't already have it 2 years ago, when I looked for a gravel frame.  ;D
May I ask what you paid for the frame? Just the frame, painting is always depending on the exact style.

Looking forward to seeing your build compared to mine (similar frame) and the challenges etc

Hi,
This is the quote from Sarah:

WCB-R-358=769USD/pz(includes: frame, fork, clamp; Matt/Glossy Black)
WHB-056 Gravel Handlebar = 99 USD (If you need them )
WSC-012 Stem = 59 USD (If you need them )
Special headset = 18 USD (If you need them )
Front and rear through axles = 24 USD/set (If you need them )
The painting costs in Glossy 2 colors will be :
Frame: 75$
Fork: 8$
Seatpost: 4.5$
Total 87.5USD.
Shipping cost to Italy with WXY line = 249 USD (VAT included, transit time: 15-30 working days; declared maximum value: 200 USD
)

Thanks for the details!
Workswell is quite a tad higher in price compared to Carbonda. They really increased their prices... 3,5 years ago it was a lot cheaper.  I remember that I paid overall roughly 1000€. A frame, a seatpost, an integrated handlebar,  1 color chameleon on frame and fork with letters on the bottom tube and top tube,  axles,  headset, a second derailleur hanger and shipping.. and I had to take care on my own on 19% VAT and 4,x % taxing.

Still like that bike.. I would buy it again even if it got more expensive.

You are lucky getting your frame this quickly. Looks good too!

I'm still waiting for mine. Ordered in December, Communication with Workswell is okay, they reply quickly but they're unclear about exact production/delivery dates and times.
Looking forward to getting mine sometime in the future.

Just received the frameset:

The quality seems to be very high, the paint is really smooth the transition from paint to the clear top tube is very good.
Around the headset there isn't chip or something else

(https://thumbs4.imagebam.com/4c/75/cd/MELAIJT_t.jpg) (https://www.imagebam.com/view/MELAIJT)
(https://thumbs4.imagebam.com/64/be/e1/MELAIK1_t.jpg) (https://www.imagebam.com/view/MELAIK1)

Instead Shimano 105 i have opted for SRAM Force AXS.

The integrated handlebar don't make me confidente so i switch to Ritchey Logic Switch stem and headset and Easton AX handlebar.

It looks good.
What did make you feel uncomfortable with the handlebar from Workswell? Is it for geometry or is something weird about the material?

No, the handlebar isn't a Workswell Pieces.
It was a Kocevlo integrated bar and stem.
I feel It too "flexy", not very confident in It  ::)

;D Allright okay. Thanks for the information.
I have the plan to visit Eurobike and Workswell will be there. I am curious about their current/new models in real life.

I have almost finished my build. just need to set up my handlebar and shifters to my exact position. (also need to set up tubeless, but needed to wait for other valves...)

I painted the frame myself and am quite happy with the outcome.

I did use their (workswell) stem and handlebar. They feel high quality! Internal cable routing was easy too!

I also have a cockpit from Workswell on my 268.
Unfortunately they stopped making 380mm handle bars  :- it's just not mainstream.

The wheels are from a local wheelbuilder in the Netherlands, 50mm deep, 25mm wide with hope pro 5 hubs.

Thanks for your answer. Price is a bit higher than Velobuild. But it's tempting. Your build looks great!
