Re: Carbonda FM909
What brand are those spokes?  did you custom order them cause i have never seen carbon spokes listed on their website?  that is a crazy light wheel set and they look awesome.

If I understood correctly their own.

Re: Carbonda FM909

11.3kg with pedals and bottle cages. ~3700€ total build cost with Sid/Sidluxe Ultimate, XT M8100 everything and cheap Go-Zone wheels with Novatec Hubs

Finished building it up last week already and rode 120km on local trails. Initial impressions are very positive. Bike feels light, fast, pedals well and nothing creaks or rattles. Fills the gap between my gravel bike and a chunkier trail bike very well :)

Still waiting for frame plugs as a last finishing touch. Will get some more from Carbonda, the ones from AliExpress already arrived. Lets see which ones fit best.

Re: Rimbrake Frame recommendation
Check out the velobuild options or the LightCarbon options.  Yishun and lightcarboon have some sort of relationship but LC seems to be much more responsive.  I usually hear back in a day at most unless its the weekend.  the light carbon LCR006-V meets all of your requirements.

Yes you are right. That Fram is perfect ,so i did write E-Mail yesterday for LCR006-V but Wendy said MOQ is 100 set.

Re: Recommendations for building a rim brake lightcarbon frame Thank you all for the answers.

@00Garza sorry for the links. The bikes I have shared are the Velobuild 077 and the TFSA ultra light that is sold on AliExpress.

@Jefflinde I read your entire thread before writing this post. I have all the components you have mentioned to me.

I also have a ultegra R8000 group and Rothar Vento 38 wheels. I want it to weigh little because I like climbing bikes.

@Raidinberry777 I'm from Spain and I'm looking for a Chinese painting because it's an economical option for me.

My current picture is a little big and I need to change it after doing a biomechanical study because of some discomfort.

Re: Getting kicked around by LightCarbon, should I dispute with paypal? Seems pretty normal. As I understand, they make stuff in batches, not individually for single customers.

I think everyone can rest assured when ordering from LightCarbon.

Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29
How are you liking the durolux?  i have the same fork and after a bit of messing around with it, i have found my happy place and it is really performing great.

the bike looks great!!

Thanks. Im happy with it and considering how cheap it was with discounts it is unmatched, but it definately took some time before I got it to shine.

Re: T1000 Full Carbon Fiber 27.5er DH Suspension Frame MTB BSA 240*76mm Rear Shock It's not *that* weird for a DH bike from when these molds were created. Maybe a bit on the short side for a large, but this is pretty "normal" for like, a 2016 DH bike - recall these had been around for a number of years as the Evolve Sky Pilot, and geo is offset a few years on open mold chinese bikes.

Part of the issue is because of the super slack head angles combined with long axle-to-crown length forks, seat angles, and long wheel bases, reach is no longer the helpful size summary we treat it as on trail bikes. You're much better looking at numbers like effective top tube, wheelbase, and rear centre to figure out how a DH bike might fit/ride on paper. That said, the thing is still small when you look at those numbers.

For example, the Norco Aurum HSP which was fairly cutting edge when it was released in 2019 sported a 465/473mm reach in its largest size (dubbed an L/XL). Recently, DH bikes have gotten much longer - but this trend has only occurred with the current resurgence of DH investment and tech.

So this is probably "fine" for someone looking for a decently competent DH Bike to this day, but probably only for someone up to 5' 9" or so. Consider their sizing as 'small' and 'medium' now, rather than medium and large.

Re: Lewis Bike (Trickstuff 2 & 4 piston clones)
At that price I would have to have a real hard think about these.  Shimano brakes work so well and while these are light they are not so much lighter than say an xt brake.

XT F&R set is 574g at ~$225-250
LV2 F&R set is 413g at $265

So ~30% lighter at 10% higher cost.  Seems promising if they can actually perform. And XT/XTR is a high bar to reach in terms of braking performance and, more importantly, reliability.

I have XT on all my bikes and love them. But I was recently toying with the idea of XTR or maybe even TS Piccolas (for no logical reason other than I want light and high performance) so these were compelling.

Re: japjoe7 Carbonda FM1001 build thread Got some more stuff I forgot to post the past few weeks. Tubolight wheel inserts, Tubolight valves, Stans tire sealant, Shimano brake oil, Shimano brake fittings, Secret Chain wax, Sram foam grips, RYET 3D carbon Aircode saddle.

Had high hopes for the saddle but just isn't for me. It's nice and cushy but hurst my butt only after riding half a street block. Looks like for now I'm sticking with the Avocet O2 Air 40R I've had for almost 20 years.
