Component Deals & Selection / Re: Evosid version of 5DEV cranks

The Evosids are 585g for the 170mm (only size) and the 5Devs are 610g for the 165mm. Both without chainring.

A few others for comparison:
Rotor Kapic alloy crankset - 545g - with chainring.
Descendant Carbon Crankset - 555g - with chainring

Depending on coupons or sale these are $62-72 for a set. I asked if they were painted or anodized and they said anno. Only a few reviews so far.

Also, has anyone tried the new Evosid cranks (5Dev clones)? They look incredible, both the silver and the black with splatter paint, however I'm not 100% confident that they will be strong enough considering they've copied a Titanium crank design and made them out of 6061 aluminum.

The original 5Devs are aluminum. For $63 it is tempting to get a set to try out.

The Rockbros knockoff of Oneup composites are a great first (or only) flat pedal.

Has anyone tried this reusable rubber bartape stopped instead of electrical tape?

They seem like they will work. My experience was I managed to get the shifters mounted, brake cables routed, and everything positioned well to start wrapping the bars. I even bled the brakes. At that time I noticed that the rubber stoppers were still on the workbench.

I haven't tried that one in specific but it looks like several others with a different label. The biggest weakness is poor lubrication from the factory in the bearings. If doing a PF bottom bracket something like the ZTTO thread together PF has a similar body to the wheels mfg.

Kingstop - sintered or ceramic pads. Used them on Magura, Shimano, and SRAM calipers with no issues. Such stop. Much wow.

Component Deals & Selection / ZTTO Slab cranks

The Ingrid knockoffs/homages/clones on Ali have spawned some more rectangular arms. ZTTO did some with the rectangular shape and their name on them. 24mm steel spindle, engraved logo, 3 bolt direct mount chainrings. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805664078321.html

If you haven't bought your crankset yet I could sell you mine. I picked up a force carbon crankset with power meter for cheap so I planned to switch it out. My Senicx is 175mm arms and 42t chainring.

Any experience with one model or another? Which do you recommend?

I have used the Gr2 with an AXS XX1 rear derailleur and an e-thirteen 9-50 cassette with no issues. I used a different bottom bracket than the one it shipped with because I had a higher quality one on hand.

Kingstop works for me with a few different types of brakes.

I have the Zniino carbon gravel bars and taken them out for a few rides with not issues. One was the initial shake-down on some walkways and through various city areas. The second went on fire road type areas with mild rock gardens. No issues with them in either area. Adding small extenders on the horns/area in front of the brake mounts opens up additional hand positions.  Originally I ordered the 720 width but decided to go smaller. If someone wants the 720s I can make a great deal.

Some videos on reddit of a guy using the bars - and having his dogs along. https://www.reddit.com/r/gravelcycling/comments/wchjbq/bikejoring_two_dogs/
