Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame

Regarding the play issue which develops during the ride, would suggest you apply medium strength thread locker to the stem bolts. Screws prabably untightening due to road vibrations

Been eyeing it also, they told me they can ship a size 52 (LCR017-) in 2 days after I placed my order. However they reminded me they only have a limited supply on hand. Really not into getting frames painted, the naked color I have found works, especially since it helps me to hide new purchases from my wife. Really would like to see feedback from others who have made the purchase regarding the ride feel, especially how it compares to known brands

Looking for feedback from persons  owning LCR017-D (light version), how does it ride? Is it stiff? Any regrets re the purchase and if yes why?

UPDATE (Day 22) - The nipples and rim tape arrived today. Dropping off at my wheel builder tomorrow.  Will also have him inspect the front wheel.
CJ I take it things went well and your wheel builder was able to to get the job done? Have they provided any feedback on how different it is from regular spokes? Had a recent situation where I ended up in a pot hole and my rear wheel broke hence will have to be rebuilt

I am currently battling a warranty issue with Giant, regarding my (only 4 month old) Propel Advanced Pro. It's a story for another day. I'm giving them a chance to do right before I make a video on it, but the experience has left a really bad taste in my mouth for having spent $4000 all in. Warranty and dealer support is supposed to be what comes with the high price tag right lol?

Had I purchased my Tavelo Attack frameset (Nich Legend4/Adapt AT-B01) before my Propel and knew the performance would be very similar out on the road...I could have saved myself not buying a Propel.

While the Elilee Blize isn't the most ground breaking looking frame, I appreciate Elilee's approach. Perceived quality seems to be there. Gonna probably sell my Propel once warrantied, and use the money to build an Elilee. Or an SL8 comp  ;D
To me the sweet spot for competitive Chinese bikes is the $1500-$2000 range.

@patliean1m since your review I have noticed pandapodium lists Tavelo Attack as out of stock

I had difficult time deciding between SEKA and Elilee, as I thought both are good option. I ended up getting an Elilee. I have not been able to ride the Elilee Blize outside yet, since it's still a little cold up in the northern part of the US (I am a fair weather rider).

One thing that might be overlooked is how easy it is to actually purchase the frame. I kid you not, I sent three emails, Instagram DM, FB message to official SEKA accounts and I hear no response. This was me trying to buy the frame directly. Meanwhile, I got prompt response from Elilee and they have been responsive and answer all my questions even before I decided to get the frame.

Yes I also explored the Seka option almost a year ago (between may and july 2023), it was near impossible to get a response. At first a sales person did respond and mentioned they would shortly (within 2 months) offer direct purchase via their website. I am then near pulling the trigger and then no response. Tried them a few more times for about 6 weeks and then gave up

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: SPD-SL Pedals on AliExpress
« on: February 11, 2024, 02:35:27 PM »
See no reason to go with options outside of the mainstream (Shimano, Look, Time). You can get a Ultegra spd sl pedal for 80 or a 105 one for about 60 via ebay. Amazon has Time pedals for around 40.00  Have tried the route you are trying and ended up going back to the original. Have experienced  non original pedals {spd sl)that came not properly greased; Not as easy to clip in and out as the original. Not all cleats are manufactured with the strict standard as the original. Have some China speedplay pedals (titanium) that I purchased six months ago that have started to rust(note I do not recommend speedplay, the platform is not wide enough). Honestly my experience is you do feel the difference (originals vs copies)

@hazzer19 how does it ride? ie How responsive to your pedaling (stiffness)? What's the weight of your build. Have to say kudos to VB, they are now good at painting frames.

My previous bike was spec'd with Shimano Claris 8 speed, and let me tell you coming from that 12s seems excessive. I honestly think 10 speed is probably all you would ever need, so I would guide the forum to save money and buy the now "old" 11 speed groupsets at lower prices. The 11-34 cassette is absolutely ridiculous, and once it wears out I will be going down to a 11-30. Previous Claris cassette was 11-28, and I was able to make it up all the mountains here in east TN. What is nice with going from 8-12 is that the jumps between cogs are much smaller, which I never realized would be that big of a deal. I feel like the only time I would ever use the 34T is if I was bonking hard
Yes I agree with you, been doing same with 11 speed di2 and most times used (but in practically new condition). Have found facebook marketplace a good source

Any update on this frameset? What's the ride feel like?

13
Have not tried those frames Have the VB168 and a Yishun. My experience and research shows that Yishun offers better quality framesets. Yes VB is more responsive to questions, but there are less issues with Yishun. The finish tends to be much better than VB.

would suggest you try thread locker on the bolts 'and see if 10 nm works
