Title: Duty & Customs (Aliexpress)
Post by: Patrick on October 09, 2021, 02:54:33 PM
DPD will pay taxes and customs clearance, and send it directly to your address  (for a fee of course) This appears on many sellers pages
Is this a scam?

Is it a scam? Probably yes.
Does your order come to your door, without having to pay any other fees or taxes? Also yes.
Will it get you, as private buyer, in trouble? Probably not.

Thanks for the response. Has anyone been offered this and had a successful outcome? Could be that you get charged at both ends. I am from the Uk by the way. It may be different for other countries.

I used DPD! for an order to the UK in 2020. It did arrive without duty to UK but came through Europe from China via train. Delivery time was long due to covid and a useless UK forwarder

Not a scam! I buy frames and wheels/rims from China from 8 years, and this shipping method work fine: last mile carrier in Italy is DPD.
In Covid-era delivery time increased from 20-30 days to 2 months ::) but have to pay italian VAT, duties and anti-dumping tax is worst  ;D
