Title: Need Bottom Bracket T47*P1.0 (68mm wide) for Shimano Hollowtech II
Post by: WhityWhite on November 15, 2023, 01:05:15 AM
Hello everyone,

my LCR017-D is about to be delivered :-)

I have just found out that I need a T47 bottom bracket...

I have looked on my German online dealer sites but apparently nothing affordable is available at the moment :-((((
...  for Shimano Hollowtech II

Do you have a tip, maybe from Ali, which one I should order?
And which tool do I need?
So far I've only ever had pressfit bottom brackets...

Thanks for the help!!!

Hello, same situation here.  :)

As far as I read it, the Cactus bottom brackets have a good reputation. I bought this one: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EjRaECl
It arrived already and seems to be manufactured very well.

I think this tool (05) is needed: https://a.aliexpress.com/_ExDPgWv
It hasn't arrived yet, so I'm not 100% sure. Will report later.

I don't specifically have T47 but I have Kactus, DJC components (BSA 68MM) and both of them have been fantastic. Both claim to have ceramic bearings. On the more expensive side, Token Ninja. I have their thread together BB386 bracket on VB GF002 but they make T47 too. No creaks, spins smoothly. If I ever get another PF frame, I'll get Token Ninja again without doubt.

Thank you!
I'm somehow not into Chinese ceramic bearings...
I don't think the difference between steel and ceramic is measurable or noticeable... yes it turns nicer in the mounting stand... but hmm... but more susceptible... or am I seeing this wrong?

I have actually just found a bottom bracket at Standert that seems to fit: https://standert.de/products/first-t47-bottom-shimano-hollowtech-ii
Since they probably also install this in their own bikes, that should be enough of a reference and quality feature and I'll probably go with it.

Or what do you think?

That's reasonably priced too. Go for it. I'm not a fan of ceramic bearing either. Can't tell difference between ceramic and Token's BB at all. All have around 3 to 5k miles on them.

how has this BB held up so far, and did you go for external bearings for a reason? Im purchasing the same frame and shopping for a BB right now

I recently bought a couple of moquai t47 bb for 24mm spindles from... Bikester or bike discount. European websites. One or the other. Around 30 eur a pop I think?
I have nothing bad to say about them, they work.

Is token available in your area? I have a T47:24mm spindle Token BB with steel bearings on my Seka. No complaints, spins smooth.

I’m planning to buy black bearing with skf bearings
