Since the leasing company is the one that owns the car, I assume that the rebate helps with the residual, giving you a cheaper lease payment.

Yes, if you are a Georgia resident, the State of GA will give you a $5,000 tax rebate on an electric vehicle.  If you purchase this year, you will get the rebate some time after next April when you file your taxes.  You can stop by any Nissan dealer for more info.  GA is not the only state offering additional rebates, if you are lucky enough to live in a state that adds to the Federal rebate, you can lease a Leaf on the cheap.

Thank you.  The VFR is a real gem and it gets 45 mpg to boot.  We have some really nice roads about an hour away in the North Georgia mountains.  Fun in the VFR, even more fun in the S2000.

Here is a pic of my Spa Yellow S2000, owned it now for 12 years, 105,000 miles, 10 sets of tires :). I'm in the foreground.  AutoX, track days, mountain drives have all been a blast in the S.  The photo is from one of our meets on US 129 "The Dragon" on the NC/TN border.

The Titan looks like a good frame, the main pivot is just slightly different (swings from below the TT instead of on the TT), it also looks like the Titan would be a bit stronger but possibly heavier than my IP-036.  The one thing it's missing for me is 12x142 drop outs.

The 19.5 lbs for my IP-057 was when I first built it, BTW, that also included the Eggbeater pedals.  Since then, I added my Planet Bike computer, changed out the seat post to an Easton EC90, and changed the rear tire from a Racing Ralph to a Continental X-King.  So the bike last weighed in at 20.5 lbs.  Just those changes added nearly a pound to the build, half a pound from just changing the tires.  The RR are stupid light but very thin and somewhat expensive, particularly since I didn't even get 500 miles out of the tire, for me that's not much tire life.

Cool looking bike light!

I"m not a tree hugger, but as a Mechanical Engineer I think the car is extremely interesting.  A friend at work bought one and since what we do at work is design batteries and chargers, everyone is looking at it.  Currently GA offers a $5,000 rebate on top of the $7,500 rebate from the Federal Govt.  He leased his Leaf for 24 months @ $360/month, no money down, 12,000 mi/yr..  The leasing company gets the $7,500 but he gets the $5,000 rebate.  So is cost would be $8,640 -$5000 = $3,650 or about $151/month.  He figures he'll save about $100/month not buying gas so the offset cost is $50 month.  Where can you find a new car for $50/month!!!

At the end of the lease he can turn it in and walk away.  Pretty fun to drive an electric car that cheap.

just bought some Ikons!

Haven't tried those yet but they look like a really nice tires.  Maxxis has a design center near me in GA.  I met one of the tire engineers on the trail one day, ironically, his buddy had a flat tire.  He changed the tube on his friends bike in about 2 min, faster than anyone I've ever seen.

Here you go, it's a 2007 Honda VFR800.  Great bike, 110 HP, V-4 engine, it even has VTEC :).

Hmmm, 100mm wide ( or 4 inches) seems very wide.  Since I have ridden only one fat bike I really can't say if I would want 80mm or 100mm wide rims.  Either way, I'm not really interested in building a fat bike right now.

Good luck with your sales Peter!  Also, congratulations on your marriage!

When you first build a new bike and the pads are new, you may have some light rubbing until you get one or two rides on them.  That's been my experience anyway.  Seems the pads need to wear in a bit.  However, make sure you have properly aligned the caliper and your disc is flat and true when mounted.

I agree they have a rather large rise, but my stem has a 0deg angle so no additional height there.  I suppose if I had an angled stem I could flip it over for some negative rise and bring the bars down a bit.

I also thought about keeping the flat bars and changing out the stem for one with some positive angle as another option.  I'm not a supper aggressive rider and the riser bars on my IP-057 make my seated position really comfortable so who knows.

I get some fatigue in my lower back if I'm to bent over the bars so the riser bars should help there, I also noticed that I could use a bit more weight over the back tires when I stand up and peddle so a riser bar could help a little there too.

UPDATE:

Changed out the carbon flat bar for a carbon riser bar, when I ordered the frame, I ordered both styles of carbon bars from XMIplay.  Width is still 680mm.  I was a little concerned that I had cut the cable and brake lines to perfectly reach up to the flat bar and they would be a bit short for the riser bar, not so, lengths are fine.

I'm trying the riser bar to see if it fits me better and is more comfortable.  I won't know until the next ride, maybe Wednesday.  I can say one thing, flat bars do look a bit better, more race oriented.

Here are a few pics from in the garage, already dark outside so indoor shots only.  Please ignore the bike computer, it's functional but kinda sticks out there.  Would be nice if I could mount it on the stem, but the mount is designed for the bar.

For a fork, I like the RockShox Reba RL/RLT.  For the rear shock, I like the Rockshox Monarch.  But that's just what I like, probably not as good of a value as the X-Fusion products which have improved by leaps and bounds.  Look for a good deal on eBay or sometimes PricePoint puts forks on sale.

If the size you need is 6.5"x1.5" then there are several Rockshox Monarch options on eBay, starting at like $163.

There are some Reba RL 27.5" forks on eBay starting at $429.

Also, for whatever rear shock you get, you will need to make sure you have the correct mounting bushings at each end, you will probably need to buy those separately.
