29er / FM 258 Frame - headset bearing play
« on: May 09, 2019, 09:56:41 AM »
Hi there,

I just recieved my FM 258 frame and I noticed that there's considerable movement or 'play' when you place the top headset bearing in the top of the head tube.

Here's a screenshot showcasing the gap.

Is this normal? Will it cause issues when tightened up? Or should this be warrantied straight away?

29er / XDB Shipping
« on: March 22, 2019, 05:41:00 AM »
Hey everyone,

I was quoted an extra 90 USD for a special form of shipping from tideace. According to their Sales rep, "XDB shipment' way  is the shipment way can help European countries' buyers avoid taxes. Which means that the buyer won't need to pay any taxes to ship by this way"

Is this for sure legitimate? I have been stung in the past with import duty from the Irish customs.

thanks in advance -

Rich

29er / Advice needed - Hong Fu FM058 or something similar
« on: March 20, 2019, 03:38:11 PM »
Hi all,

I'm considering getting a ligh full suss frame for xc racing. I would ideally like to find a seller who will sell me a light set of carbon wheels and frame together as one package.

Does anyone know of any trusted sellers who stock the FM058 frame (Or something similar) and a really good set of xc wheels?

Also, does any one know what exact shocks will work with this frame? The Full suss world is all very new to me so any help is welcome!

29er / Tideace FM-M009 / Crank advice
« on: March 18, 2019, 02:06:35 PM »
Hi there,

I'm looking for some advice. I am considering purchasing a 009 frame in bb30 format. I am going for the bb30 option because I picked up a Sram XX1 BB30 Quarq power meter crankset really cheap but it turns out it has a very narrow spindle and doesn't fit my current canyon exceed 29er frame. The sram crank has the 156 Q factor short spindle but should seemingly work with a 73mm bottom bracket according to the Sram technicians.

Can anyone foresee any issues here? I'm hoping the narrow spindle crank actually fits the frame and that the arms don't get stuck over the seat stays.

Looking forward to hearing anyone's advice if you have it!
