We want hooked rims! Hookless is a terrible trend. I agree about rim width - 34mm is pretty good for 30-32mm tires. 60-70mm deep is fine. Lots of shallow rims in the market - don't make another one!

hello, ive been buying 9 speed ybn chains but I was wondering if anyone had a link for legit 11-12 speed shimano chains, I am confused which shimano chains are real or not as some do not come with quicklinks and they are supposed to be packaged seperately and sometimes the reviews say that they are real. Or should I completely stay away from shimano chains, what other chains are good alternative apart from YBN?
For genuine Shimano chains visit your local shop. For bootleg Shimano chains go for Aliexpress.

Thanks. "Close the gap" looks like a very solid and elegant solution but I am not sure if I want to pay 60 euros for a Garmin mount with bell. You can find cheap chinese copies on Aliexpress (like five times cheaper) but sadly I only found versions for either standard aero bars or normal round bars. I cannot find a chinese version for Most iTalon bars.

Btw does the bell of the "Close the gap" sound good and loud enough? Are you satisfied with it? Did you have any problems mounting it on this frame bars since they are just a copy of the Most original?
I had the aliexpress aero version. Didn't last more than few rides until it broke. Bought the Close the gap version. Worth every penny. Solid build quality and the bell is easier to use and better.

For oil I'm using Citroen (also for Rolls Royce and Bentley) hydraulic mineral oil by Comma. 8€ for 1 litre. Works perfect.

The "tiny island I'm confined to" was mentioned, northwestern switzerland and neighboring regions. 4GB is almost enough to fit all of germany and all of france, the 2 best mapped countries in the world. Do you ride in a different country every week?

Surely you mean 20MB because the only garmin device with more than 16GB is the new 1040
So far this year yes - every week in a different country. However this week not planning to go anywhere so gonna break that. Like you said 4GB is almost enough for just 2 countries, but still not enough. Installing maps is so annoying I couldn't imagine doing it 10 times a year (with 5 visits to areas outside your home). Feel free to use whatever you want, but 4GB is very small amount in regards of map data.

What app? Some seem to have better compression. OSMAND (which is probably the closest they would use) for western switzerland, french rhones alpes, franche comte, alsace, aosta and BW, including wikipedia, terrain, contour and standard maps is under 2GB for me. The equivalent on mapy is 4, and on offlinemaps it was closer to 10 iirc but I deleted it

But keep in mind cycling maps are often just roads and a couple POIs if you're lucky, they don't have all this detail so as long as you don't want an entire continent or manage them before travel it should be fine.

I'm not sure what tiny island you're confined to but I wouldn't want to download new maps every time I travel somewhere. And redo once getting back home! Let alone taking a computer with you to download maps while on the go when cycling to new area. 4GB is not enough even for small portion of Europe. IIRC Garmin ClimbPro data included all of Europe is about 20GB.

The anti-dumping charge should only be added to complete bikes from China, not parts.
Looking at TARIC and the goods code for frames and forks, and parts thereof made of carbon and sent from China there is no anti-dumping, only duty of 4,7% and your countrys VAT.

Example from Swedens TARIC:
https://tulltaxan.tullverket.se/#!/taric/measure/mcc/search?sd=2023-12-19&d=I&cc=8714911025&ad=&co=CN&cu=EUR&l=en

I agree with you, the safest and easiest bet, most often, is to opt for DPD/pre-paid options.
TARIC 8714911025 can only be used by importers who are approved for exemption from the anti-dumping and have the relevant document to supplement customs declaration. In this case you should use TARIC 8714 9110 35.

Anti-dumping tarif is applied to wide range of bike parts.

In regards to the zero degree setback seatpost, how much range of fore/aft does this reduce compared to 15 or 20 degree?

Meaning...if my saddle rail position is dead center on a 20 degree setback post, will I have to slam the saddle back beyond spec to get the same position?
What's a 20 degree setback post?

This frame has disappeared from the Yishun website recently. Anyone know why?

Well, the proper Version is the original Hidemybell mount.
Wow thanks! Didn't know this existed. Getting one right now!

How many tires can you pump up with one of these? If I have a leaky tubeless tire on my gravel bike that won’t seal, will I be able to top the air up multiple times till I get home? Or will it die on me out on the road after one or two top ups?
No. Put an inner tube and it will pump it once and ride happily home.

Model A (under stem mount) snapped in half after about 150km of riding. Made my Garmin 1040 flying! Great product otherwise. Bell works nice and I like the location of the light mount being tucked behind. Really wish there was a proper version of this product.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Replica Factor Ostro VAM

Nice looking Ostro replica there. Anyway, can you show what type of compression plug given by seller?
Because I've experienced it before, D-shaped steer tube is not working well with normal round compression plug. It tends to loose during ride and for me it's so dangerous.
Compression plug doesn't hold any stress while riding. Your handlebar is clamped to the steerer and keeps everything together. Compression plug and top cap function only to set correct tightness for headset.
