Here was a typical way I look at a product:

I see it sold locally.
Then look for it on Aliexpress or Alibaba.
Generally I find it for much less.
And I buy it.
You just need some patience, but they are getting better at it.

For bigger purchase I check with the seller if they have a better shipping condition about taxes.
All rare troubles I got: poor product quality, product lost, mistakes were settled either directly with the buyer or by Aliexpress.

A product with many orders and very positive reviews is almost always good. A little of common sense is needed.
Beware people are entitled to leave a review when they just received the item.
So for longer term reviews, you need to dig in the reviews.
Then check the bad reviews, some are people that try to put their own mistakes on the seller, and some are enlightening.

Now, if you think about it, there is something really wrong and unsustainable in all this.
Everything is built there, and shipped here for nothing.
But there is no point to pay someone here a $300 markup for nothing on a $160 fork either.
As long as it works, I'll do it.

Wait, so this isn't made in the USA? This is a rebranded Chinese fork that is being sold by a US company. Is that correct?

Either way I'm very interested to hear how this fork is. Anyone have any experience with it?

Correct, it's a lot more common than you'd think.  There are times where people will just "drop ship" random parts, where they make a pretty website and use software that will just redirect your order through a seller on Aliexpress and upcharge 200-1000%.  There are other sellers that work with Chinese companies, test out products, offer suggestions and work with them on product development, then sell the best product they can.  The goal is to determine whether a company is just a drop-shipper or more of a true business.  This seems like it's one of the cases where Sixmo just creates a storefront that purchases the item and it'll ship to you from China, but at least they went one step further and had custom decals made.  The website is super basic, there's a claim about long shipping times, and the descriptions read like they aren't a suspension enthusiast.  The word is damper, not dampener, things like that.  I would love to be proved wrong though, but if you wanted to try it out I would guess they are the same product as the Aliexpress link, so just save $350 and order from the source.

I would take a chance on one right now, but the 29inch models are all sold out.

I like the "Due to high demand all orders ship within 6 weeks" line...so you mean standard AliExpress shipping?

It's fork maquette. Not for proper mtb riding.

Unless you're pulling from Aliexpress, there's no way I'd buy a fork from them for 500 USD when that opens up a huge amount of used availability. There's only a couple "do not buy" problems with forks otherwise you can deal with heavily ridden used stuff at worst.

I'd get the new SR Suntour Durolux EQ over this any day, it's pretty much a top of the line fork for just a little more then this with discounts.

The durolux is amazing, but you can get this fork off aliexpress for under $200. I might give it a chance at that price, if it was in stock.

I'm looking for cheap 100 or 120mm too  ;)

Sixmo guys have selected this fork to sell it in the US.
Unless they are dishonest or dumb, it gives me confidence to try these Aliexpress fork.

EDIT: a comment on another fork, maybe some checks are necessary before buying:
Quote
"The product looks good but is in fact very low quality. the functions work well but the overall performance is poor. the fork load's up through travel and gets so stiff it doesn't work. I'm a retired pro cyclist and bike mechanic so I decided to take it apart. it's not a real mountain bike fork in any means. it has a air chamber that works but doesn't have a oil bath. so on either side there are no oil seals. on the rebound and compression side it's a low quality cartridge. again no oil seals so just cheap plastic bushings. I think this fork is good for very easy smooth trails not North shore of BC Canada."

Thanks, I forgot ZTTO. Will look their options.
Is it just the sticker that says Manitou? Or the internals too  ;)

I got a suntour from Ali that was 100% legit when I took it apart, same for a 160mm yari i bought, can't see why the manitous would be knockoffs, particularly with their odd reverse arch

I ordered a Markhor from Anto Bike Store on Ali 2 years ago and as far as I could tell it was legit, it's still going strong.

How do you find the fork? Thinking of buying one for an xc build

Can't comment on that, I put it on a friends bike.  He's given good feedback, but it's his first air fork so doesn't have anything quality to compare to.  He just dropped the bike off for yearly service yesterday, so I'm curious to pull the lowers and check it out.
