Just ask the seller for a "No tax" shipping and he will help you out - Be prepared that the shipping cost will be around 100$ then to Europe.

I was very keen on taking on an Ebike project based on a Chinese carbon frame and a Steps 8000 system. However I quickly gave up as it is impossible to source a Steps E8000 kit. You will have bye everything in bits and pieces and that will bring the cost way over what you you can buy a similar Ebike for from a well known brand. I ended up buying a brand new Specialized Turbo Levo carbon 3 month ago and wow that Ebike have changed my MTB riding to the better.

Every start has an end and this is the end of me riding my first chiner, the good old CS-036. to be honest I did not ride that particular bike that much due to the way too much flex in the rear triangle. My new MTB is already in my garage and in 4 weeks I have ridden more than I did in 2 1/2 years on my old chiner. But always something old together with new so my win from last Xmas is rolling beautifully under the new MTB and what is it that I have bought - anyone can recognise?

This one is carbon and since it's a 2x spider, you really can't use it on a 1x system and will need a direct mount ring. But it's the lightest of the bunch and relatively cheap.

Just a heads up, the SRAM X0 comes with a detachable spider and you can buy a 1x spider for the same chankset all over Ebay:

I do have this on one of my bikes and it is a fantastic crankset and a bit underrated.

I'm waxing all my chains too and it is the best way to keep your driveline clean and lubricated. Usually I can do more than 300 km on every waxing and the best thing is that your driveline stays completely dry so no dirt is sticking to greasy oil. After a very dirty ride I rinse it off with soap water and and let it dry. Furthermore it is scientific proven that it is the most effective way to lube a chain as well as the fact that it reduces friction and on can gain as much as 20 watts on a road bike.

Here is a few pics of the preparation process, initially I clean the worst dirt off with petrol before I put it in my sonic cleaner for 20 min. After this, I rise it with warm tap water to get all the chemicals off from the Sonic bath. The chain needs to dry the night over in a warm spot and then it is only to cook it in a bath of ordinary paraffin - Same stuff you use for home made candles. I bought 2 kg locally for 10 bucks and it will last for 5 years :D  I bought a cheap electric cooker for making fries etc and it comes with the possibility to set the temp between 40 degrees C and 250 degrees C. Paraffin melts around 60 degrees C so its easily heated, when its melted in the cooker the chain goes inside and stays there for about 10 min while you tap it gently with a screwdriver so to get all air out and paraffin into all rollers. Then it is only to take it out of the paraffin bath and a good advice, immediately after you take it out of the bath take a rag and remove all the paraffin you can from the surface of the chain. After this let it hang for 30 min and cool down and finally break all the joints loose and this takes a little time. The stiffer the chain is, the better it actually is as paraffin is then into all hidden corners of the chain.

One thing that is extremely important is the need to remove all oil from the chain before dumping it into the paraffin bath!!

This is the incredibly dirty driveline from wife's commuter:

After a little cleaning and some magic in the sonic cleaner:

Then into the paraffin bath:

This is how the driveline looks after about 50 km in rain and snow, I have not touched it since I gave it full treatment:

What you see in the close up of the chain is tiny pieces of paraffin and that is what also lube the sprockets a little bit and keeping it free of rust.
It is a rather big work the first time you clean everything but from there it is only a matter of cleaning the chain in the sonic cleaner and after drying a quick bath in the cooker and I'm good again for another 500 km :D

Finally, sorry for highjacking the thread.

Hello Karsten,

Count me in the interested :)
I have all the parts, but still haven't mounted a 1000w Bafang on my wife's city/MTB bike.

What cassette, ring, chain, derailleur did you plan to put on it ?
I took a Luna BBSHD 130bcd Spider Chainring Adapter, as it looks the default chainring is not very good.

PS: what a fork !!

As I will us the bike mainly for commuting between home and work(55 km round trip) together with a little gravel roads, I will properly end up with a 40-42 tooth chain ring in the front. The MTB had a 10 speed 2X SRAM X0 prior to the conversion and I will stick with the rear dérailleur together with the 11-36 cassette. The stock chainring seems like complete crap and I intend to use it only as a paper weight :) I have bought a 110 BCD spider and will use a RACE Face chainring together with a chain guide. What I'm not sure of yet is the chain line so I will wait until I have everything installed weather I need spacers or not. I have also bought the gear sensor so it will cut out the engine when I shift the gears in order not to destroy the cassette/chain - I guess I will try to see if my SRAM chain survive the torque but else I will try to find a strong 10 speed echain.

That front fork is as a matter of fact fantastic when you use the bike for downhill, it is a good 160mm travel and I think the frame will break before the fork :)

Watch out for this frame, I do have one myself and especially if you are on the heavy side there will be way too much flex in the rear triangle. Also, there have been seen lots of quality issues with the bushings/bolts in the linkage system. As others are saying, this is an old frame and it is not worth the money even if cheap. I do not use mine any more due to the fact that that the way I ride, I'm afraid it will break.

Hello all

I'm about to start a build of a electric MTB based on an old Specialized Enduro SL FSR full suspension bile. If there is interest, I can do a build thread here even though it is not a carbon Chiner frame - All the principles would be exactly the same.

The project will be based on a Bafang 750W BBS02B kit and before flaming starts I will just highlight the fact that the product is not as bad as mentioned earlier in this thread - There are 1000s of build threads out there backed up by videos that if done smartly with the right setup/programming, it is possible to build a quite capable bike for less than 600$ if on a budget. That is compared to the cost of a EMTB from a well known brand where one easily can spend $3500+ for a EMTB with less power and weaker battery. right now a basic kit can be found for 400-500$.

would love to participate but I see no buttons to Social media share here? - My favourite frame right now is a Dengfu FM096

Edit: I had an Add blocker running and that killed the FB/Twitter link - I clicked now :D

As long as you get it unbranded, I don't think there is any risk.

There have been cases here in Denmark where the frame even had some local Chinese stickers where it got confiscated and the person who got it had a huge fine about the same size as the cost of the original brand. There is a trademark on the frame design and as I said, customs are extremely curious when goods arrive from China here. Apart from that, I would never buy a copy of something as I don't want to support illegal activities. If this frame design is protected by law, it is indeed criminal activity to produce a copy it and in my eyes also buying it as it is obvious that it is a copy product. I'm very happy with my open mold legal FM098 road frame.

If you are in Europe expect a 4% import duty.
If the frame is painted, expect a 48.5% of anti-dumping  :o (Especially Belgium, Spain, may be Germany)

If it is not painted, fight against the anti-dumping, it took 3 months, but I won.
A friend didn't have that chance, since he accepted the package, but then couldn't prove the unpainted frame was the one in the box(nasty trick).

Then add your VAT, something about 20%.
And a fixed amount like 30€ to handle your custom declaration.

The world is not the same for everyone.

For Denmark that would be about 34%, 9% in customs and 25% import tax. That is if you do not get caught for importing copied goods. Its a obvious copy of a F10 and customs in Denmark are not stupid. I would never take the risk as I could end up with a fine of maybe 2000$+

Well I tried... ;D

I forgot you aren't in the US. If I recall, you're in Denmark correct? I can bring some to you in July but you will have to meet me in Switzerland.  :o

Well, I go to Virginia in April :D What state are you in ?

I have a few friends there and they always collect my Ebay buys - As a matter of fact I found this on Ebay after some more hunting: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252072535173?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

That could be interesting apart from the fact that one picture indicates 143mm and another 155mm, I sent him a mail and we will see.
