Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
has anyone on here fitted a "the one pro" handlebar to their 168? is there a headset cover that fits the frame?

The 168 doesn't have a proprietary top cover. The standard one will do.

The One Pro fits perfectly. Just use everything that came with the bar, not the stuff that comes with the frame. So the handlebar comes with a compression wedge, top cap, and spacers; use those. They’re lighter as well.

yeah, will go with the oem version of the one pro handlebars as well. did you by chance weigh the spacers that came with it?

The top transition piece (between stem and spacers) is 3.8g. The top cap is 9.3g. The compression plus is 10.8g. The 5mm spacer is 3.6h and the 10mm spacer is 7.2g.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Can you guys tell whether the seatpost or the mounting hardware is twisted?

just spend some minutes to check where its coming from.

First thing I noticed is, that the seat post itself is already slightly twisted in the seat tube. There is quite a lot play when it's not clamped and in my case, clamping results in a big gap on the left side whereas no gap on the right side. This matches the rotating direction of the my saddle and the one which could be seen some posts above. It's only some tenths of a millimeter for the small length of the seat post but will have bigger impact for the distance from mid of seat post to notch of the saddle which we are looking at.
Not sure if this is the root cause or only a contributor to the overall misalignment.

I will try to put some thin metal foil between seat post and frame (like some others already did to prevent slipping) in order to get a even gap on both sides in clamped condition and will report about the outcome.

I can't tell now if the misalignment causes seating problems since only did some 150km on test-drives so far but it definitely is something I would immediately realign with a round seat post ;)

i will do some posts and pictures about my build as soon its fully done since there have been a couple small issues (also regarding the headset play) which  needed to be fixed and aren't mentioned in this or the related threads so far...

Re: Speeder SC-R52D
has anyone tried 30mm wheels on the R52D? do they fit?
I did try on 28mm tires on 21mm internal width wheels.
Fork no problem and rear, I have 4mm aprox on each side, so yes for road should be fine, but a tight fit.
Check the pictures yourself.
1st pic fork (25mm Schwalbe Pro Tubeless)
2nd pic on the rear (same tire but on 28mm)
Cheers!

Re: Speeder SC-R52D
this is the 52D, right? https://www.parapera-bikes.de/our-bikes/atmos%C2%B2-gravelbike guess thats the reason why its not available in germany anymore :(

Good catch.Parapera Atmos2. Seems the same I would say but did you check the geometry table?
The geometry is a bit different. I think it is an slightly modified version to fit 34mm tires.
In my Speeder 52D 30mm yes, but 34mm I dont think so… Interesting in any case…

Re: Speeder SC-R52D
super sleek, great job! do you by chance know how wide your tires measure when on the rim?

They're 33mm on 24mm internal width rims and there's 3mm of clearance at the chainstays.

Re: Speeder SC-R52D Hi guys,

Here is my R52D. After 3 months, the frame arrived well packaged, no missing parts. The finish, build quality and tolerances are great, BB and disc brake mounts are faced, head tube well finished, the paint job is excellent with no excess in the BB, disc mounts and head tube areas. No any particular problem during the build. The frame, seat post and handlebars have marble glossy finish, and look nicer than the pictures. The size is 510, handlebar 370|85. The frame feels stiff, the seat post has good flex and is comfortable. On the other hand, the handlebars are very uncomfortably stiff, may be because they are very narrow, 370 mm with short stem, or they are just stiff. I installed GP5000, 28 mm (real width of the tire is 29.4 mm), on 21 mm internal width rim and there is 3-4 mm clearance on the chain stays, the fork has bigger clearance.
My only complaint, it is not about the frame but rather about my handlebars choice. The handling is very very nervous. I have two another bike with 400 mm handlebars and 90 mm and 100 mm stems and the handling is very different. So, I was wondering, could the 30 mm shorter handlebars impact that much the handling? I'd like to ask the other frame owners how they feel the handling of their bikes.

Re: dcrf26 frame - Scott Foil? Just received UPS tracking for my frame and handlebars. Strangely fast since TanTan originally quoted me 15–20 days for production and it’s only been exactly 7 days since invoice. Maybe they had a spare.

Re: Elves Falath EVO 2023
Received my frameset, bars & wheels yesterday, currently building it. The paintjob looks amazing, finish quality is pretty good, some imperfections here and there but overall really nice. Only downs for now are that I asked for 2 spare mech hangers and only got 1, and didn't get the included grease&carbon paste like in some youtube videos.
