Component Deals & Selection / Re: BB30 Crank on BSA frame

Arraider,
BB30 doesn't need special tools.... a bolt and some washers(how to vids out there)
BB30 is similar to BMX - pressed in bearing...and kids are doing bearings quite regularly(look for videos)

The 036 is probably the way to go - I just personally like the DSK098(spec enduro) looking frame better.
I thought the Titan might be a player with all the choice but Andy, you give me pause there.
I am in no rush and looking forward to more offerings in the future.

So, the Titan has been expanded.
There is an:
XC version - Titan NL
XC light - Titan SL
DH - Titan DH - not sold in europe
Trail/Enduro - TitanX
dropouts are optional
I attached the catalog I received from them - not sure how good it will show.  Send them an email if interested
Otherwise, they have taken the Titan the farthest of any vendor and there is a frame for every discipline.
Edit:  the link works good

What big name frame does the 036 closely imitate?
I thought the camber evo but rear shock area is distinctly differnent....the downtube is near identical though.

Also, I looked at these for sizing in general.
I like the idea of 27.5" bike for myself but since I am 6'1" I went with a 29"
Yes, bikes ride differently but some part of it was about sizing...29" women's bike....in the beginning, was just a man's 15.5 or so...now, it is still a small frame but to make it work for a woman the TT is dropped/dipped...depending on her height she may be better off with a 26" or 27.5"
I guess I am getting at, the bikes sizes are for sizing.

Emergency is emergency...not time to think, shift back...yes, experienced riders will auto shift but, there are plenty of stories of over the bars because of emergency stops.  I am sure plenty of folks here have their own OTB stories.

Talking about this has me thinking, if you are right handed, you should probably be riding moto style...front braking in an emergency needs the most control(modulate) to keep the back tire down.
We probably have the right hand as the rear with the thinking of a more powerful stop.

Back to the build, have you ever mentioned your design for your bike?  to race, all around, general XC and the conditions you have in your area.
I thought SB8 or Ikons...those type treads were for all-around.   Obviously, each tire dealer has a chart for tire suggested usage.

Now that you are saying that the screw is not in straight/parallel - that is a return to vendor to me...get some pictures and you should have no problem.

Guess this is another option - I see from the other chiner list that
the Titan comes in a SL model - meaning superlight and weighs 1700 vs. most at 1950+
I don't actually see it available on their site and the post is saying it is available in a month or so.

Haven't used the BB7s but would think they would be great in modulation/control/feel - as it is a direct pull.
We lose touch/feel with hydraulics but learn to mostly overcome the multiplicativ power generation.
I look at it as, BB7s have less chance to throw you over the bars in an emergency situation since the power generated is not multiplied
and therefore more controllable by us.

Interesting, glad you brought it here.
First, this is a known good caliper?
If so, do you have a dremel type tool with grinding wheel?
I would look to do something like that to get the angle needed.
Or, work with the seller.

When I talked with a vendor LTK(http://www.ltbikes.com/products-show.asp?id=511)- she said it was set up for 100 to 120 fork but the picture on this one looks longer
the weight on this is low also

looks like the 098 model some sellers have in 29"
same problems with vendors showing a 21" but looking at the photos, they have one that shows the geometry and max is 19"
