A question about sizes on the 168. On my current specialized Tarmac Elite (circa 2007) I am a solid 56. The chart for the SL 7 has my as a 58 (i am 182 placing me squarely at the low end of the 58 size). Does that compute with folks here? Your thoughts appreciated. I would stay with the 56. According tire clearance I got these pictures with 28mm tires. Looks like a lot of room for32 tires, maybe even more...

Questions You can order all sizes, but production will take longer for some of them. I ordered a 58 and it will be shipped next year. Paint options are available. I ordered one light weight version, so single orders should be possible. October 22, 2023, 11:37:47 AM |

Speaking of chainrings, any feedback on Pass Quest? The product pages look good, kinda pricier but quality seems better than average AliEx 'rings. In fact, I am trying to replace FSA rings on my Cannondale and these PQ rings are more expensive than FSA original. They are lighter than Cannondale's 10 arm OPI rings though. I did not ride an test them, but optical appearance seems to be very good. I will test the shifting quality later because the frame for this project was not even produced yet. Regarding these Pass Quest solid chain rings. You do realize that having a solid chairing is just a waste of extra material and added weight. Chain rings have all the extra material machined out for a reason. Just saying... I know, I know... I'm a weekend warrior with around 3.5W/kg, so it's all about aesthetics. At least the bike will look fast.

I received the frame yesterday and it was shipped to Germany within 10 days. That was really fast. I did a first inspection and the quality seems to be very good. However, a final verdict is still pending as you can only really say something about the quality when you build the frame and ride it. This will happen in the next days and weeks. I can confirm that the tire clearance is 32mm. Probably even wider tires will fit without problems. I have a first small problem with the mounting of the rear thru axle. I had to re-cut the thread there. A small thing, but it has to be mentioned. I'll get back to you as soon as I have more details and will send photos and weights. January 27, 2024, 01:09:09 PM |
