You are right. I had to mixed up the models. It is even better when it comes to change the bearings :)

Component Deals & Selection / Goldix M160SL hubs
« on: April 08, 2024, 04:19:35 AM »
Hi, I'm about to build XC light wheels for my racing bike and I wonder if anyone of you own this Goldix M160SL hubs and could say a word about its quality and longevity.
It has not popular ratchet system with 72t. The body I think is made of carbon. They are about 30g lighter than EXP240 model. The other difference is wider flanges distances, but still not as wide as in ZTTO M1 (these are very wide).

Indeed they looks the same in terms of geometry. T47 for me is an upgrade, but full internal cables routing is a downgrade (to me) due to forced higher handlebar position. I want it low :) I'm curious about the max chainring size, but if in real it is like they say, it is not for me.

I'm glad that there are some hardtails topics among lots of FS frames. I started to think about HT to be faster option to my FM936 on less technical courses. I'm looking forward to hear some reviews from you guys on the SP-M048.

Are the cables only routed through the head tube? This frame looks really nice. If only a 38t oval chainring with a 52mm chainline would fit, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it (factory max is 40T @55mm). Any information on this case?

I also have ordered GR045. I wouldn't say it has CX geo, but this kind will fit me very well. At least no toe-overlap, cause the HA is 70* and WB is long. Seems perfect for fast gravel.

For me it looks like it was hit from the side. From the side where is no serial number. Pedal strokes are common. Today I got one myself :/

I can't remember, it was so long time ago :) Just kidding. For me the main advantage of oval is when climbing (mtb race, step dirt climb). The power is more even all the time, and it is harder to slip the rear wheel.
For road riding I don't see the point, but marketing can see it :)

Anyone try a 34 tooth oval? I have a 32T on now, but wondering about clearance.
I rode the oval 34 all last season with 52mm chainline (shimano 12s - SLX cranks). Not much clearance, but OK. 36 oval wouldn't fit. Now I have 32t oval, which I like better :)

I am planning on mounting 38mm tyres so I will measure the inflated tyre width with calipers and remaining clearance to chainstays.

I'm looking forward ;)

In my FM936 bike the rear tire for XC is Kenda Saber 2.4" (60mm real width) and there is a lot of room arround. In future I will try Kenda 2.6 (supposed 65-66mm) for long mountain riding. In my opinion it should fit. Maybe someone mounted 2.6 tire, and could shere with us his thoughts?

Yes, then the chainline will be as the one designed for boost. By the way, the biggest chainring FM936 can accomodate is round 36t and oval 34t (if have 0 offset). I've just tested the 32t oval with -2mm offset, and it works perfect, but is close to the chainstay.

Frame has boost spacing, so chainline 52mm is OK. Yesterday I mounted 32t oval chainring (BCD104 for PM spider) with -2mm offset (50mm chainline) and today I'll be testing. It should be also fine.

I know, I asked them for 36t ratchet.

Hi, why not ZTTO M1? I got the set one season and as far it looks OK. Little less weight than DT350.
