OG-EVKIN 025 & Velobuild 066 are both Canyon Endurace clones, though I don't know how high their sizes go.

There are a lot of frames in that price range so you have to figure out what you want out of a frame to help narrow things down. Why do you want to move on from the Triban? What do you like about it that you want to keep in the next bike?

Plus bear in mind with DTC frames a lot of it is a crap shoot. Yea you can read reviews and the like but you don't really know how the bike will ride until you build it. But you can steer things one way or another with different choices. Aero? Climber? Endurance? Light gravel? All-arounder? What kind of geometry are you looking for? I think once you get those basic questions answered you will have a direction that makes recommendations easier and more useful.

What direction did you take?  :D
Tan Tan FM639, still waiting for paint and delivery. IMO Velobuild is less of a gamble.

066 is the most comfortable, 168 is the heaviest. Patlien really liked the 177 but it has the most aggressive geometry. I'd personally go for the 066; I almost did but went in another direction.

How did you order it? I was looking at this but couldn't find a way to put an order in. And did you get a weight on the frame before assembly?

I'm also a fan of "old school" frames- round seatposts, tolerable geometry.

The thing is that when I try to shift up(while pedaling) the chain gets pinched and it blocks the movement of the pedals.
Welcome to the fun of front derailleur adjustment  :D

Sounds like you may need to make some adjustments to get the FD further out in the big gear. Probably worth checking that you got your crankset installed and aligned properly too.

Hey how is the geometry of the bike treating you? Also, what size stem did you go with? I’m considering buying this frame but the long reach worries me (lower back pain). If I do get it I’ll have to go with a shorter stem (80mm) and use all the spacers on the steering tube.
You should look at the VB-R-066; basically a Canyon Endurace carbon copy with more forgiving geometry and tire clearance. Some "roady" gravel frames might not be bad either. A safe bet is something with less top tube than reach.

I have no proof or evidence of this, but I'd wager overall quality out of outfits like Velobuild has probably recovered substantially as COVID stuff subsided. The fact that they haven't hiked prices much if at all suggests a lack of demand, which means they probably have plenty of capacity and time to get stuff out.

There are insanely long threads here on their most popular models as well so those seem like the first place to get first hand QC data. But IMO I feel like their newer and more popular frames are fine.

Great review. Wow that is one light frame. I really chewed on getting this frame for months. Ticks a lot of boxes but I ended up going in a different direction.

Look into gravel wheels. I just got a set of Elitewheels that are 35x31. There are some MTB wheels that are even wider but they are not very aero (and often have a very high spoke count)

I hope Tan Tan is decent, just bought an FM639. I feel like brands have got better in general since things slowed down from COVID.

Maybe reselling is a point….however not for me…and besides that I would never buy a used carbon frame.
It‘s just nearly impossible so judge, what „went“ into it…
But hey…it’s all about everybody’s own preferences….
I just find it awkward to blame Chinese companies for evolving into kind of their own boutique styles and brandings.
With all it’s downsides…
…maybe we see a Tour Team sponsored by a Chinese bike company in some 3-5 years…at least that’s what their visions seem to be
I mean, Giant went from a kind of no name OEM to a top road bike brand by doing 2 things. 1 getting bikes in the Tour, and 2 getting into brick and mortar stores for better sales and service support. That's pretty much all these brands have to do to justify what they are charging.

A bit much of negativity here…blaming companies to make money especially when considering the „mark up” of western brands. Which most likely have the same origin in the Eastern.
Anyways…from my perspective here in Europe…
PP prices are all incl. … so no more charges for shipment and taxes.
And here, US brands are also insanely overpriced e.g. Spec. and SRAM…so

Besides that I had a very positive experience dealing with PP.

And the Tavelo Attack … or Adept frame is sold here under western branding for 9000$ Dura Ace equi.

the chinacycling YT about Shanghai bike show and the people behind the brands was very interesting regarding their goals and visions.
Cheers
I don't think people are being overly negative, just objectively questioning the value of these frames.

For example I just ordered a TanTan frame set. For $800 or whatever with custom paint etc. I'm OK with being pretty much on my own for support and losing damn near all the frame's value on resale. Western brands bikes are already hurting value wise- how much do you think a $2000+ lesser known Chinese brand frame will go for on the used market? It's kind of a false economy IMO

I got Elite Edge gravel 35x31s. They weigh ~1370g. They were on sale for about $600 a while ago; don't know where they're at now.

I just ordered the EDGE 35 gravel wheels. They came in at about 1370g and measure 31mm wide. Build completion is months away but they look pretty good. Kind of regretting not getting the 45s but we'll see.
