I am waiting for my  IP-256SL to arrive and wonder if I can use a dropper seat post on a IP-256SL with internal cabling (not hydraulic)

It will be 1x10, no FD and hope I can use the FD cable hole  for the dropper cable and end up in the seat tube..
I think the answer is no, it can't.
All the internal cables are running through the down tube, none of them are going through the upper tube.
If you had used a FD, the FD could handle down pull, because the FD cable is coming from below.

For more visual information, see the picture in this topic: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,96.msg778.html#msg778

I's waiting on my IP-256SL, so I don't have real life experience.

Hi Russia, here the Netherlands. Welcome!

I really like the black/red combination. Very nice!
How long are you riding this bike ?

And what do you mean with "way too hard for XC racing!". Aren't the QRings nice to ride ?

where can I find all the frame paint options on xmiplay's website?  I saw a frame/rigid carbon fork in orange and black that was gorgeous, but can't find it on here anymore.  Anyone else know the pic I'm talking about?
This one?

You can email xmiplay with your custom paint design. They will tell you the costs.
I know which picture you mean. I will take a look tomorrow if I can find that picture.

Here is my nearly completed IP-057 Lefty build! Please let me know of any observations since this is my first build.
Nice ! I like the combination black frame and white fork.

Can you add more information to your post, like weight, build list and maybe some riding experience ?

29er / Paint cracks ?

Does someone, who has a painted frame, has paint cracks into their frame?
How's the paint holding after a few rides?

Hi mtbdcc,

there is a 650b frame available in 15.5" at the XMiplay website ( http://www.xmiplay.com/ProductDetails1675 ) . I don't know the geometry, but we can ask Peter.
The weight of the 17,5" frame is 890±35g.

As for the brake noise, try cleaning the rotors with some alcohol, it's possible you got a little something on them when you were building the bike.
Found this one last month:

Hi Patrick,

I really like the color, like I said before. Very nice combination.

Did you consider to buy a white fork ?
And why didn't you choose for 12x142 and 15x100?

I like the idea of the dragon. But green and red, is that a good combination ?

I wish I could say it made everything easy, but I still spun out at the top of this climb, in the same spot that always gave me trouble on the 26er.  Oh well, got to try again.
Maybe you need to stay seated and bend your arms more. It gives more pressure on your rear wheel and more grip. If you're going to stand, the wheels slips sooner.

Have a lot of fun with your bike and ride safely.

29er / Re: Should I get the 057 or 256??
« on: June 12, 2014, 08:58:33 AM »
I'm contemplating a 256 but running it with Iplay's thru axle rigid fork. I weight 175 lbs and will be riding flat, rooty singletrack and fire roads. Does anybody have any thoughts on which of the 057 or 256 is best suited to this type of riding? Look forward to hearing from you!
The reason why I ordered an IP-256 is because the weight (19"= 1040 gr) and the direct mount for the front derailleur. I'm going ride this bike with 2x10.
When I had choose for 1x10 or 1x11, I had choosen the IP-057, 200-250 gr heavier, but a lot cheaper.

Are there stack and reach numbers for the 256SL? :-\
I don't understand what you mean ...

I've got some new pictures of the IP-256 from Peter. The first edition of the IP-256 had an option for external cable routing and there were some cable bolts visible on the pictures. This option isn't available anymore.

The new pictures shows an IP-256 with the QR option. 142x12 option is still available.

That cover under the bottom bracket, and the way the seatstays connect to the seattube in that wishbone intersection - I am not a fan of.
Today I asked Peter (iPlay / XMIPlay ) how reliable this construction is. And he insured me it's really reliable. And we all know iPlay stand for their quality and if there're problems, he will solve it.

So, I think we don't have to worry ...
