Problem:  Carbon seatpost creak.
Work performed:  Pulled the seat post, cleaned, and reinstalled.  I do this every 3 months or so.
Did you use carbon paste when reinstalling?

29er / Re: Should I get the 057 or 256??
« on: June 08, 2014, 06:38:50 AM »
There are a few things that hold me back from getting a 256:

- more expensive then the proven IP057
- no reports on 256's tire clearance yet
- a 19" will probably be close to 1100 gr so not that much lighter then a IP057 of the same size
- I don't like the cover under the Bottom Bracket. The IP057 does fine without. It seems to be an ad hoc solution to a problem they ran into.
- I want to run 1X10 and don't like the Direct Mount for the FD
- Pay now and wait two months! for delivery.
I ordered the ip256. 19" weights 1040gr. I don't like the cover under the bb also, but the quality is good.
Honesbike have the same price as iplay. I asked them already. But higher shipping costs, resp. 120 usd and 93 usd.

The reason why I liked the IP-256 so much is the fact is has a direct mount for the front derailleur (E-Type2). I'll ride the bike with 2x10 (Shimano XT). And also the weight is a really pro.
The only negative thing at the moment is the delivery time. It has a production delay of more than 20 days. I ordered this frame in the beginning of April and I won't send to me before 22th of June.
And I'm a little bit concerned about the removable plate on the bottom bracket (like Carbon_Dude said). See last picture in the topic I mentioned below.

I've placed some pictures of the bike in this topic: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,96.msg778.html#msg778

Vendor Discussion & Reviews / Re: My experience with Xmiplay..

Really nice color, Patrick. Which name (RAL) has this color ?
Please post some pics (in this topic) when the build is done.
I'm beginning to doubt whether I 'll order an IP-256 matte black or an IP-057 in this color. I ordered already the IP-256, but there's a huge delay in production.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Fun Works N-Light Evo hubs
« on: June 02, 2014, 03:22:45 PM »
My weight is 82 kg (181lb). And these are alloy rims.
I'm not sure, but I think these hubs are the same as Novatec, which also used by SuperStar. It's not topnotch, but fair enough.
Couldn't find long-term reviews.

Does someone has experience with Fun Works N-Light Evo hubs?

I'm considering to buy these wheels with these hubs:

Question to MTB2223,
Have you ordered those disc brakes and, if so, found them to be decent quality....unwarped, sized correctly, holes line up and so on?
Yes, I ordered those disc brakes. The quality looks great. I haven't used them, I'm waiting for my frame. I'll paint the inner side of the discs red, like the color of my hubs.

That way a new thread could be dedicated to each sale or deal and it would much easier to skim through all of the titles and find what you want.. rather than it being put all in one thread and more difficult to navigate. Plus.. these deals tend to come and go so having it all in one thread means that people have to scroll through a bunch of deals that are no longer active in order to find the ones they want. With it being in it's own board, and with the way threads cycle through based on age and activity.. just works better that way, imo.

Then I could also also make a sticky thread that contained a list of the best stores, much like the list of vendors in the "Vendor Discussion and Reviews" board.

What do you guys think about that?
I agree.
And we can give some reviews/comments on that deals.

I've got the same experience as on eBay. They're doing everything to get a good rating. No problem with aliexpress/alibaba. The only disavantage is the delivery time (to the Netherlands) of minimum four weeks.

This one is even cheaper:
