Also if you are getting the frame from ican, double check if they offer RS's super deluxe RC3 - it should be about 240€.

I confirm they offer that shock at that price. That's a no brainer then about which shock to use as start.

Yup, 74 not 75.

I drawed the bike at home using the provided pdf as template and compared to a Large Ican P9. It's definitely shorter on top, and HA slacker.

BTW it calls for a 205x65 shock, trunnion mount. I forgot to add the image that LC sent to me.... I just wish it was longer and not so slack.

I think the same. Then you check the Reach and it is ok. The head angle is 65° and the seat tube 75°, which explains why the TT is so short. I believe it will be a good downhiller...

There's a new frame around the corner!

Fresh news from China, LightCarbon has a new frame to be released shortly.

BB92, Boost, Metric.... seems to tick the "new" standards!

I've been told first frames will be available by the end of april.

Not yet on their web nor in their brother's Yishun bikes.

@R_Pierce, I've been told Manitou will introduce the new McLeods sizes around June....
@ijak, Thank you.

I have seen a RS Deluxe RT for 136€, so there's nothing that could beat this price. I have had a FS bike with a 3 pos Monarch on it for 5 years. I have yet to use the Lock position, and 99% of the time, the shock is in trail position. I think this Deluxe RT may be the one that fills the tick.
And wtf, I can always upgrade the shock if needed =)

What kind of shock would you recomend for the P9?
I've seen a very cheap RS Deluxe RT ( open&trail compression modes) and also, a not so cheap Fox dps (with 3 pos compression) and I would like to know, how important would be to have a "platform" for pedalling...
I appreciate any inputs

FYI i built this up over 6 months ago - you can see it here: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,1349.0.html

I did a 29er build, so let me know if you have any questions.

Just going through your post - i routed the dropper cable over the BB shell (all internal). As for the additional holes, I covered it with clear tape.

Could you make a report of your bike pros & cons after 6 months?

Hi,

I asked them a few weeks ago.
It's a rigid frame, 29", with very up to date design.

On rideczech's thread there's a bit of chat about sizing.

True true... my eyes fail me lol. Im debating on a P8 or P9. Im leaning on the P9 even though a P8  would be a better choice.
I'm quite like you, numbers say P8 but looks say P9.
I will be using moderate 29x2.25", a shock with only 50mm of stroke to set the P9 with 135mm rear travel and a 140mm fork.
I will have to wait for a few months to start ordering parts, but I have almost everything checked.

That 200x57 may cause problems.

From pictures, there's around 63mm of "stroke" before the seatstays contact the seat tube. That's with a 210mm long shock. So when the shock is shorter than 210-63= 147mm, there's contact on the frame.

Your 200x57 shock, fully compressed, will be 200-57= 143mm, ths there's huge potential for a frame impact on chainstays arch.

The P8 with 57mm stroke should be around 136mm travel at the rear wheel.

I see they still offer the 58', and the new one has the barake in the seatstay instead of the chainstay. I have no clue if this is good or bad, given that the rear end has to flex when the suspension moves...

Guys,

Does this frame use a normal crankset(chainline 49mm), or a boost version(chainline 52mm)?

Thanks

Hey there,

Which size frames have you bought and how high/inseam are you?

Thank you,
