Re: Lexon GFX Carbon Gravel Bike Frame Build
I'm currently in the refund process, via message they are saying to cancel the dispute and the will send "at once", but wont tell me what that means. I feel if I cancel it, I lose any type of leverage and they will just screw me over... They did say I could return it, but I'm sure I have to ship it back... right?

Gavin at TopCarbon said he has asked the retailer to "handle it well ASAP" and will look into the issues that caused this to arise - hopefully he will.

Re: Velo Build R-099 Build Ok, good news.  Chris has said that $350 from us is enough to start the zero offset mould.

We'll PP our $50 each and then they'll begin.

The following expressed interest in paying $50 each for the mould.  If you don't want to go ahead, please indicate now and we'll try to find others to fill your place.

Me.
@J-S-Q
@Velovelo
@FHS
@zaphodbeeblebrox
@Bikeoiv
@BiciDomingo

When Chris gives me the PP address he wants to use, I'll post it here.  Reference will be "099 zero offset mould".   When you've made the payment, you can post a screengrab here of it - of course feel free to obscure personal details.

I've also asked him to indicate what the final price for the seatpost will be.

Re: Speeder SC-R48
Justin from speeder sent me a quote for the 45 with in house hubs, carbon spokes. $760, 140 shipping  $43 pp fee.

Decent price considering the weight but im hesitant given its a new company on the market and while its a good price considering, it is a bit expensive in the realm of chinese wheels.

It looks like their aero frame is a pinarello copycat.

Winspace wheels are another $500. Farsports another $700-800. Vortex another $1200. Dunno where you're going to get good quality rims, carbon spokes and hub cheaper than that.

Also they're by no means new.

Geo may be somewhat similar, but it doesn't look anything like pinarello design language.

I just ordered my second pair of wheels from Speeder.

Re: Velo Build R-099 Build Waiting for Chris to reply with payment details.

Will ask about a discount on the posts for those who contributed after we make the payments.  Don't think it'd be wise to do so before.

Re: Velo Build R-099 Build Chris has confirmed that the unit price for the seatpost themselves will be $30, and new orders for the frameset will include it if preferred.  I think that's cheap enough not to bother asking for a discount.  I'd assumed they'd be nearly double that.

Re: Velo Build R-099 Build
Hey as i prommised... that is specialized sl7 seatpost cover.
https://ibb.co/PcrLV4v
https://ibb.co/0j8tCmR

Seems not to fit. Or did you receive it bent - hence why the front is furled upwards?

Also it looks aggressively tapered ... Not sure the genuine one is like that.

Re: Velo Build R-099 Build

Will Chris be willing to go ahead with making the mold first even though our end of the deal is not fully met yet?

Think it's better to keep it as is.  More likelihood of them considering other things like DM hanger and rubber cover for seatpost etc.

If nobody else has paid by Sunday, I'll pay another $50, leaving only another $50 needed, which I'm sure the community could find.

Re: Any chinese frames using high modulus carbon like the real Specialized frames? UHM or high % of HM / UHM fibers generally isn't desirable anyway, as it produces an incredibly stiff, brittle frame.  The really lightweight stuff usually uses less material and a mix of T700 & T800 or equivalents, but because they use less material they're often rather noodly and flexy, like the Aethos or worse the O2 VAM.

Dizo is interesting due to the dyneema ... It should make steerer failures much less likely, as well as shock absorption properties.

Also I'd never heard of Dizo ... They seem to be operating in Japan but made and designed in TW.  Any more info about them? The Epic Pro is also the only frame I've seen where they show a visual representation of how Geo differs on all the sizes.

Re: Velo Build R-099 Build Paid another $50 ($100 total).

So that's $50 left, or $35 left if Bicidomingo pays another $15

Re: Velo Build R-099 Build
Can those who contributed to the mold costs DM me with your first name and initial of your last name, please.  I'll then relay these to Chris.

There was a bit of a SNAFU with the mold cost apparently. It being $800 rather $500.  Rather than trying to raise extra money I suggested that they add $20 extra to the price of the zero offset posts instead.  Chris accepted this, and has also agreed to honor the originally quoted $30 price for the seatposts, or to charge no extra if ordering a frameset with a zero instead of normal seatpost, for those who contributed to the mold costs.  Others who didn't will be charged $50 for just the zero seatpost, or $20 if choosing it in preference to the normal one with a frameset.

Having the name list will ensure that you get your discount.

From what I understood, work on the mold started a week or so ago, and Chris originally said it would take about 20 days to finish.

Names needed:

@Gigelz
@Velovelo
@FHS
@zaphodbeeblebrox
@BiciDomingo

Got PMs from everybody except @velovelo - if you could respond when you see this. Thanks
