Re: Any Chinese alloy wheels comparable to Hunt Wheels? Hunt wheels also use Novatec hubs (if I'm informed correctly). For the price of their alloy wheels, you can just buy Chinese carbon wheels with Novatec hubs (perhaps even DT Swiss 350, depending on the price range).

I'm very happy with my Light Carbon wheels. I've ordered several sets so far (both gravel and aero), and so far, no complaints at all.

ZRACE crankset confusion I've ordered the ZRACE RX 1x crankset (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001345854813.html) but it's pretty annoying/confusing to put together:

1) The nuts for the chainring bolts require a special tool ("chainring bolt wrench") to hold into place while tightening the bolts. Be warned if you don't already own this.
2) The T25 screws to mount the spider are the kind with a pin in the middle, so your tool needs to have a hole in it. I own four tools with a T25 bit (including two torque wrenches) and neither of them have a hole in it. The crankset does include a small tool you can use, but that is too small to get the screws up to 8Nm. I may try to replace these with SRAM screws. Both are M5x7mm, and I'm hoping the threads will match too.
3) The T25 screws shipped with a large rubber ring/band in the bag. I have no idea what that's for.
4) The dust cap looks like it's the Shimano Hollowtech type, but it's not (the Shimano tool doesn't fit). I have no idea how I'm supposed to loosen or tighten this.

Re: Dengfu R12 name brand model? and experience? If you feel every pebble, then your tire pressure is probably too high. A bike frame doesn't actually flex that much. Most of the comfort comes from the tires, seat post, and saddle flex.

Re: Frame suggestion Also check out the Carbonda 1056. It has an endurance fit (high stack, short reach), with a more road-like feel (short wheelbase, steeper angles), and it's pretty light weight.

Personally, I recommend against aero seat posts. They don't offer that much of a benefit, they are very uncomfortable, and they are proprietary. What if you want a seat post with a different setback? What if you don't like the clamp design (I hate the two-bolt design most manufacturers use)? What if you got a fancy carbon saddle but the clamp doesn't support oval rails? Too bad, you're stuck with it if it's proprietary and not a standard round shape.

Re: Donnelly c/c - PlanetX XLS EVO questions
Not any experience with them.
The website looks much more professional than most.
And they have all models Carbonda and some others are selling.
Nice find !

Flybike and Carbonda are sister companies. I'm guessing one does design/B2B, the other does retail?

I've checked with them, and many of the designs on their website are proprietary. The open mould ones are sold through Carbonda.

Re: Tan Tan GR040 Build I'm also having issues with the ZRACE RX 1 crankset. I first tried the included 4.5mm and 2mm spacers, but neither of them were enough to get a proper preload. However, using both is too much, as then I have way too much load on the bearings, and cannot get up to 50Nm.

What does work for me is using the 2x2.5mm BB spacers (to go from 68mm -> 73mm). There's an ever so slight play left (hardly noticable), and it probably doesn't result in the perfect chainline, but at least it seems rideable.

Update: I've removed the 2.5mm BB spacers and used the included 4.5mm spacer on the drive side, in addition to a 1mm spacer from Praxis that I had lying around. That removes the play but now the cranks aren't centered.

Re: Loose Sensah SRX derailleur Yeah the derailleur works fine once the cable and chain are installed, so I guess it's by design. Now I know :D

Re: Which carbon bottle cage would you recommend? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33058133251.html

I've used these for a few months now, for road, gravel, and bikepacking. They work great (just like the ones they are inspired by).

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056 Most likely, you'll need to run a full outer cable from the shifter to the front derailleur. If it's a Shimano derailleur, check the manual. It has a section on how to set up the derailleur with a full outer cable.
