Re: Magene QED 12spd groupset showcased in Shanghai
My source sent me this photo that Magene told him about the shifter disc + rim compatibility. But I honestly have no idea how it works.

According to the Chinese conversation in the cyclisthub video, the hole on top is for mechanical brake cable. The hydraulic brake hose goes to the traditional location below.

It's one single design that accepts both mechanical and hydraulic braking. Neat.

Re: VeloBuild VB-R-268 frame
what size do you recommend for 167cm?
going to build a bike for my girlfriend. She is currently riding a gravel bike with almost mtb-like geo (long TT, tall HT, short stem) so it's impossible to compare the fit

Going by height only is not recommended for proper bike sizing. At very least you want to measure inseam length as well. If you really want to get it right, you'd measure leg length in two parts (ankle to knee and knee to hip bone), torso length, shoulder width, and arm length. This would give you the most important contact points to the frame.

However, if this is all you can get, then by height only I'd say a 52 frame would be appropriate, which would be a S for velobuild.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-218 Got some new shoes for the purple bike. I asked the seller to ship without PCW branding but these are what showed up. I will likely remove the decals eventually.

What are some of the unanimously loved frames? Hi all,

I’m new to the scene, I know Winspace, Elves and Yoeleo produce decent stuff, I’m also aware of Velobuild and their offerings but what are some of the more universally loved frames? I’m predominantly looking for a aero frame set but I’m interested in anything really, so what are the more popular and commonly loved framesets?

Thanks

For me the lightweight/aero VeloBuild VB-R-268 paired with Magene EXAR Ultra wheels has been awesome so far.

That looks ace!

Is that a magene crankset too? What group set are you using?

Re: What are some of the unanimously loved frames? I think SergeK pretty much sums it up. At this point, there’s a few proven and reliable options when it comes to sellers.
Most of them offer one or multiple aero frame options. The rest is personal preference with respect to geometry, weight, aesthetics and paint options and so on.

IMO Velobuild is a no brainier these days if you don’t want to dive down the rabbit hole and are just looking for a decent frame and lots of Color options for the money.
