With current pricing available on Shimano, it’s hard to overlook…

How did the wheel building go? It’s one of my regret on initial build, I wish I went ahead and did the wheels myself

Speedo 10-52T and YBN chain, not agressive at all, definitely more XC.

That’s what I fitted on mine and I am happy with it, although I don’t have any contemporary references. It’s easy to fit and dial in, very nicely finished, I wouldn’t hesitate to get another one.

I am looking for 24" carbon wheelset, not much in term of budget options but I found some 24" MTB rims, is there any reason why I could not pair these with goldix M370 or some Novatec hubset and some descent spokes to make a set of light wheels for $350?

That’s my kind of dad! Nice built sheet, she will surely enjoy it!

That bike looks awesome, thanks for sharing. I will look into the fork you are using, I was struggling a little to find something outside of the manitou and that was too expensive for my taste.

KMC seems to be a popular choice

I completely agree, all the 40-50% discount on new bike put a lot of downward pressure on used market. The rational choice means much more toward used than new chiner if you don’t factor in the desire to be different and the DIY aspect. I somewhat expect the Ali prices to drop in the next few months to account for that or their demand will dry up.

I would say so! What is the response so far?

Should be doable, there is a lot of room in the BB area to run it up the seat tube. You have the magnet thingy?

How is your BB mounted, did you use loctite? I have some creaking at times too but nothing worst than what I hear from much more expensive frames riding around me, so I haven’t been overly concerned with it, maybe I should lol
