If it fits, this could drastically change the bikes geometry in an interesting way, especially paired with a longer fork to slacken it even more and raise the BB. I would not buy parts to do this test, but if I had them, it would be fun to have mounted just to see how the bike handles...

Maybe tantan-fm-299b?
Sissypants made a test.
https://forums.mtbr.com/29er-bikes/tantan-fm-299b-long-term-review-18-5lb-%243000-xc-trail-build-1100653.html

Most people recommend buying directly instead of Ali.
xmcarbonspeed, tantan, pro-mance, hongfu, dengfu, lightcarbon are a few sites that you can check out...

Emu, I'm not sure. I haven't been sent the final specifications.

Jerry, were you able to visit their booth at the Taipei Cycle Show? Did you have any reason to believe that the Orbea Oiz geometry wasn't going to be modified?  It's really too bad if all this is is a big cloning game.

Well money talks. Maybe a large Spanish customer wanted an alternative to the Spanish oiz?

40 mm isn't that only trunnion? That will not fit.
The hardware is dependent on three things.
Shock used.
With of munting.
Diameter of the shock bolt.

It is a kit that makes a special shock to fit a special frame and can usually be bought where you but the shock.

What are the going prices for these two frames?

And did read correctly that the tire width limit is 2.3 for the 7007 2/boost frame?
Approx 600USD

Okay thanks, there seems to be a pretty wide spread of reported prices for the 7007.. I'm sure due in part to the multiple options / configurations it comes in.
Yes. T800 cost more...

Posting my finished bike:
Congrats! How does it feels ? What bike did you have before ?

I had a hardtail before: http://whitebikes.se/cyklar/xc-290-pro-18/ I did not get along with that bike and had several OTBs with it.

I haven't really pushed my limits yet since the season just started here. But it feels light and fast. I need to get used to riding again and fine tune the suspension before I can give a final verdict. But so far I like it a lot! :)

Talk to pro-mance, their 7007 is very similar to 058. They have rims and can probably sort out wheels for you as well...

Don't buy those brakes for that bike!

Try to find some used parts if you want to keep the cost down...

LOL, even as I put them on the list I was saying no to myself, but I'm going to be adding another $200 at least for used stuff.  I agree with you nonetheless.
I actually have the Clarks on a bike. But that bike is more of a casual bike... I wouldn't put them on an MTB. :)

Changed out to the SRAM Guide RSC - any thoughts on these? Seem to get good reviews from what I've read.
Don't know never used SRAM brakes. In like Shimano, so simple to be bleed! :)

Have you seen the drawings for the 142mm fs029 or the Hongfu that you are considering as well?

I posted the updated drawings in an earlier post above which show clearance for 2.3

Yes, but Daniel is looking for 142, not Boost.
Also, he should compare the with with other frames he is considering. They might state 2.3 but with the clearance 0.0001 mm... ;)

It a tempting idea with conversion but since my carbon wheels today are 135mm QR only adapter to 12x142 are available. Otherwise I have to relace my wheel with a new hub.

Please post a photo of your tire clearance!

I have 7mm clearance on my 2.1 Vittoria Mezcal.
(Se attached picture for some reason the insert image function doesnt work here?)

You should ask for drawings of the bikes that you evaluate (rear triangle). Even if they state 2.3 the clearance might be minimal...
