Metal Frames / Dirt Jump Bike /Frame
« on: January 23, 2022, 06:43:54 AM »
Has anyone imported a 26" dirt jump bike, prices seem to vary massively, to the point where there

Ideally looking for something like the Airdrop fade, just a shame there almost impossible to get hold of.
Looking for a single speed bike I can learn to jump on without the risk of smashing by full carbon enduro bike.

Pivot Firebird 29... why ?

You know it's a Miracle FS830  with the frame geometry inspired by the Pivot firebird.

I'm blown away by how well it rides. slightly naughty paint job.
It climbs as well as my sonder transmitter hardtail and descends a whole lot faster.
I've bashed it through Scotland and down some big drop offs without any concens. Its not has a few stone chips and not looking quite so pretty.

Chainring was slightly awkward as I had to run zero offset to get everything inline, good excuse to buy a nice oval cnc one.

I'm still waiting for a new one up dropper post but everyone seems out of stock. Also if anyone can recommend any good carbon wheels  (30 -35mm internal width)

Has anyone had any issues from miraclebikes, paid the 50% deposit at the start of April for a frame they had in stock, and haven't heard anything since..
Completely ignore multiple emails and skype messages. It's a new design so hopefully there production is just a bit swamped under.. I would have still liked a reply.

There reviews on alibaba aren't the best but not dreadful, just wondering how long I should wait before trying to claim my money back through Paypal.

« on: April 24, 2021, 10:48:11 AM »
Pivot Bikes use a dw link which changes the ratios.  This bike uses a single pivot at the seatstay.  There is that useless pivot at the hanger, i'd prefer a flexible chainstay.

Pivot has a switch chip, that allows two different geometry but both bikes use a 4 pivot horst linkage system, allows for the rear wheel to come back when you hit big rocks.   They have also worked hard with the leverage ratio to even out an air spring shck allowing the initial travel to be softer.

By flexible pivots do you mean like in the picture, There great if you're on a super light cycle cross, down a country lane, but if your hammering through a rock garden or just cased a big jump a little extra travel is nice.   A bit like comparing a mars bar to a can of coke, both have their place.

I paid for linkage and  It's spot on.. Not sure where I made the mistake

definitely recommend, if you want to check what you are buying.
Here are the correct graphs

29er / Enduro Frame FS830 - Leverage ratio, Mistake?
« on: April 11, 2021, 05:49:12 AM »
Hi All

Just crunching the numbers on the FS830 for the suspension characteristics and getting a strange leverage ratio.  I'm guessing I've made a mistake somewhere. (First time I've done this)

If anyone has access to linkage or any of your other suspension design software I'm happy to share the details I have.

The reason I've to think I've made a mistake is the frame is clearly inspired by the pivot firebird, I've overlaid the photo of the firebird and the pivot points appear to be in the same position, however, the leverage ratio is completely different.

I've built two FM-M009 hard tails, 4 years ago.
They were well built, and are still ridden with no problem at all.
And joy[at]haidelibicycle.com was really helpful and easy to deal with.

Thanks for the Tip, Just got a reply from Joy, It sounds like there still some time away from production.

Does anyone have experience or HAIDELI  or Miva?

What's the link between the two companies?
