29+ & 27+ / Re: New CarbonSpeed 27.5+/29+ Frame (CS-496)
« on: April 05, 2018, 10:56:46 AM »
I just picked up one of the variations of this frame from AirWolf thru AlieExpress.  AirWolf was having their anniversary sale.

It shipped out yesterday.  Should be here in about a week.

Even though I am excited, I will most likely not be able to build it up until summer.

SWEET looking!

What size did you get?

I want to get one of these frames, but the short front-center measurement has me confused if I should go 17.5 or 18.5 for my 5'10" height.

Thanks!

Back in the day, early 1990's, we use to call Cannondale frames, Crack and Fail , because it seemed their aluminum frames broke more than any other.

I guess the nickname still holds true.

Slightly off topic,

But I was hoping that the 29er version of this frame was boost spec-ed rear, but it appears to be standard 142 :(

29er / AG236 29er Suspension Frame
« on: October 13, 2016, 08:31:34 PM »
I saw this full suspension frame on Ebay.

One thing I like is that it appears to have a horst link rear end.  The Ebay listing has only a computer model.  Did a Google search, but they bring me back to the Ebay listing.

Anyone have any other information on this frame?

I used parts of an old Avid FlaK Jacket Cable set, new housing, and some black tubing.

I ran regular housing outside the frame.  Inside the frame I used a black tubing I picked up from McMaster Carr ... http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-plastic-and-rubber-tubing/=136lp7e

I used the transition ends from the Flak Jacket  to connect the two types of cables.

See the picture I attached of the Flak Jacket.  Instead of the red tubing, I use the black tubing that is much more durable than the red stuff Avid would use, that is what the cable derailleur cabe is running inside while it travels through the frame.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Elliptical Chainrings. Thoughts?
« on: June 13, 2016, 06:59:25 AM »
Unfortunately, both China elliptical rings I have bought required a fair amount of filing to fit SRAM cranks.  The first one was a the least expensive labeled "SNAIL" I had to file the tabs to fit the crank.

The second one I  bought labeled "DECKAS" cost almost twice as much, but still required a fair amount of filing to fit the crank. It came with a set of inexpensive chainring bolts.  I used Wolf Tooth bolts to mount both.

Both had 104BCD holes but the tabs were too long and would not let the ring sit on the crank.

Looking at both rings, they are identical besides the "names" painted on them.

Lesson to be learned from my experience, buy the cheapest elliptical ring you can find because you will have to file the tabs regardless of the price if you are using SRAM cranks.

I will post pictures later.

VooDoo 320 did you have to do any sanding to the tabs of your Deckas ring?
Just asking, as I had to do some sanding to get it to fit my SRAM XO crankset.

Thanks!

Looking for some advice..  I didn't want to start a new thread so I am posting here.

I picked up a Chinese Oval ring for 104 BCD spider.  I have a mounting problem.

Here is the problem ....

The tabs are too long and do not permit it to fit the SRAM spider.  Please see the pictures ... I compare to the old SRAM ring and the SRAM spider.  Hopefully there is some simple solution that someone can tell me.

The Chinese seller seems to not understand or is purposely playing dumb.

Looking for a LONG term update this fork.

I would appreciate if you could provide any information?  Durability?  Quality of construction?  Is the 485mm axle to crown true, as most other forks see are 480mm.

Many thanks!

Yes, I saw that also after I posted!

I was also inquiring about personal experience.  How does the rear end feel?  Is there some give, if so how much?

I am looking at this frame, the WorksWell 062 and one more frame that is made by Dashine carbon frame .... http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/DASHINE-mtb-carbon-frame-29er-hardtail_60196858690.html
