Re: Groupset News It’s juste the pace at which market moves and investors expected returns. It’s quick and easy to get a product that works 95% of the time, let the early adopters be the beta testers. Look at Tesla, and to a certain extent, bmw/VAG/Mercedes, they are not what they used to be in term of dependability because of that forced development pace…

Perhaps ltwoo should focus on getting erx/er9 right before releasing other products. Maybe this is just the difference between our German and the Chinese mindset. It seems like Chinese products are in a perpetual alpha phase of product development with so many amateur issues cropping up. So far I'm seeing a lot of er9/erx issues that should be weeded out very much prior to any sort of release is even contemplated. Don't they have any pride?

That would increase their cost thus price to consumers. China factories aren't magic where they can build the same quality and reliability at half the cost. They are consciously making this decision to fill in a gap in the market for value buyers.

For the paint finish, I chose RAL5004 with added pearl sparkle. Its effect under sunlight is absolutely perfect, shining and dazzling. However, the paint finish details are not particularly perfect, with slightly sloppy transitions, and the overall paint quality is passable, probably at a 7.5/10 level.

The frame is a semi-internal routing version, and I opted for the UDH hanger, which allows for maximum upgrade potential in the future without sacrificing support for standard derailleurs. The frame craftsmanship is flawless, with smooth inner walls. The only issue is that the cable guide cannot be fully inserted into the frame, which is related to my assembly sequence, and I can't solely blame Carbonda for the problem.

For the drivetrain, I chose the L-twoo GR9 hydraulic groupset. So far, it has been working well with precise shifting. I paired it with Shimano UR300 calipers and 180mm rotors for strong braking power. I also used the mineral brake fluid from EZmtb. They claim that this mineral brake fluid, labeled as #6, offers a lighter feel and can handle higher working temperatures compared to Shimano's original brake fluid. I will continue using this combination until any significant issues arise.

It's beautiful! Good to know that the 2.0 Race Kings will fit. What is the internal width of your rims? I have Maxxis Ramblers in 700x50 mm on 24 mm rims (internal width) and there's a bit of clearance but I wouldn't go too much bigger.

can anyone else report on the tire clearance? I was planning to buy Continental Race Kings 2.0 but am hesistant now after reading this. Carbonda lists the tire clearance at 50mm, so theoretically they should fit.

I had the Cross Kings 2.0 on my Carbonda 696 for a while. They have larger studs than the Race Kings and they did fit after removing those little rubber "hairs" on the tire. The 696 also has a stated clearance for 50mm.

Re: Groupset News It’s all very subjective. I’ve never been a fan of Shimano’s mechanical shifter designs and I find the mechanical hydros particularly hideous. Since Sensah practically copies the Shimano design, I’m not a fan of those either. I’m only talking about aesthetics, though. Also I have absolutely no issue whatsoever with LTWOO’s shifter ergonomics. Unsurprisingly - as I’ve been riding all kinds of Campagnolo groupsets for years. Whether or not it’s easy to operate the thumb paddle also largely depends on hand size and bar shape. I do agree however, that Shimano’s and Sram’s shifting mechanism is probably easier to deal with for a  bigger range of people than Campag/LTWOO.

Re: Groupset News Good’ol mechanical to the rescue, new L-Twoo TX. Honestly very nice finish, shifter click are crisp pour no load so it doesn’t mean much. Up 3 cogs on a push.
