Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Yishun R1018 D

Aren't people here saying yishun is the oem and light carbon is the retail facing arm of the same "company"?
Did I missunderstand that completely?

At one point they did have a relationship similar to that, without being directly related, but now seem to be independent with different products.

(bump posts to get past broken page 12)

I'm looking at options for a light to mid travel trail bike, does the LCFS958 still make since in 2024? The stack/reach and head tube angle are a bit dated but not awful. I've used that FM1001 for a couple of builds and its fine, just doesn't inspire excitement for me. I'd also rather not over fork an XC frame (i.e. not an FM936/909, LCFS918, etc.).

165x42.5mm will not fit without the 120mm linkage, which the Vitus never used.  I was able to make rocker to seat tube contact without much effort.

This is not true in all cases. Maybe frame size dependent? There are plenty of us in this thread running 42.5mm shocks with the original rocker and no frame contact.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Buying CFR696 From Flyxii
« on: February 29, 2024, 08:48:43 AM »
That is not a 696

Edit: To elaborate, it is visually different (the notch at the front of the top tube, the tire cutout in the seat tube), and the geometry charts do not match. To my knowledge Flyxii has no connection to Carbonda or FlyBike, and nothing in their frame offerings looks like a Carbonda frame. Their frame lineup appears to be old stock, nothing has modern geometry or features. Given their products and pricing I wouldn't have high expectations, but that doesn't mean its necessarily bad.

At least for their mountain bike frames there are different inserts for those ports that accept two cables, not sure if that is the intended solution here or not.

Asking to close a dispute is high on the Ali scamming list (see the Aliexpress reddit) and is generaly advised against...
when you close the dispute the case is closed for Ali and they will not help you again with this problem.

I have an open dispute at the moment and had an email exchange that had gone silent during the dispute but now they are asking me to close it and saying they will then refund me. I will be leaving it open until resolved through AliExpress.

the 919 still isnt shown on the website, is it for sale elsewhere?

I would bet they meant the 918, their other XC frame that has been out for a while.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Which rotors for MTB?

You can get the 6-bolt Avid (SRAM) Centerline rotors for pretty cheap on AliExpress, and they're a real product that works. Price to performance they are hard to beat. I've used a few lighter and cheaper Chinese rotors that just did not perform well.

I'll cover my full story in the main YFR066 thread once it is finished, so as to not hijack Eddie's build, but the short story is that I regret working with Airwolf
