Component Deals & Selection / Re: IIIPRO ROTORS
« on: May 04, 2024, 01:27:45 AM »
i've had mine for almost a year, and they're good.  used them with iiipro and zrace calipers.  they do need some time to break in, and then they'll bite.  big difference over rim brakes during winter moisture/water.  I even went down to 140mm, road bike.

it seems like everyone is selling the same carbon track frame as btx.  shame there isn't another carbon track frame that looks less like a tt bike

Looks like the R1018 can be ordered. I received Yishun's newsletter yesterday telling this frame is 'Ready to ship'.
ordered from who?  yishun doesn't like to do retail

what tire is it at 2.1"?

5
@ donavanm the 18mm tape covered plenty - i thought it might be too wide.  my internal width is 19mm

6
what width rim tape did you use?  my carbon wheels didn't have any tape.  maybe the 18mm tape I used was too wide

7
19mm.  i thought it wouldn't be a problem either, but it seems like road wheels don't like anything beyond 28c.

8
looking to go beyond 28c width.  tried mounting 32c on carbon wheels i received, but it seems like if you don't have the internal width, it's not going to work?  the side wall seam is uneven, and so the height is higher at different points on the wheel.  I used a 28-45c tube.  any recommendations for wheels for gravel size tire widths?

I got it in 12 days.  but seller had a $80 charge for shipping.  it stated standard aliexpress, but seems more like an upgraded ship method

Cyclocross Frames, Wheels & Components / carbon wheels vs alloy

are carbon wheels too harsh for gravel?  what wheel depth recommended? i'm going to try 25mm width, 35mm depth carbon wheel on 38c smooth tire

don't think the hb100 will work.  looks like the mounting bolt spacing for gravel frames are flat mount 34mm frame and 70mm fork(?)

12
my 105 are cable.  so looks like it'll be hb 108.  is the 34mm standard spacing on road and gravel frames?  and 140mm discs?

Juin tech, zoom, Shimano Tourney TX BR-TX805?  I don't have much experience with disc brakes.  building a small gravel bike, shimano 105, 32-35c tire size

I'm doing frame/fork with btx and they are saying about a week to put color on.  it has free shipping = aliexpress standard, which they are saying 1-2months to USA.  Or else I pay for upgrade shipping.  I've noticed other seller's charge ($80) for shipping, so I'm assuming they are using expedited shipping.

I've ordered various small parts and I've been getting things in just 2-3weeks (non expedited, economy ship), which is fastest ever.

the standard AliExpress Shipping is currently showing 1 month.  anyone buy a frame recently?  worth it to pay extra for ups/fedex?
