Hi Ferry,

I just measured the seatpost setback as 20mm (center to center), but it's hard to say precisely, it could be closer to 15mm. I attached a photo in case that helps.

I have not had any issues with the stem after replacing the bolts (definitely would not recommend the original bolts).

The seatpost itself has not slipped for me, while the seatpost head did rotate once when I hit a pothole (balltap!). I torqued it a bit more (6.5Nm I think) and it hasn't happened since. It comes with hardware for both common kinds of saddle rails.

Other than that, I've had zero issues with the r11 (it's my good weather road bike and it's winter here, so I've been spending more time on my cfr707 gravel and ragley hardtail), but perhaps next time I would go for a more standard setup with a round seatpost and regular stem+handlebar with external routing into the frame (like I have on my gravel bike and hardtail). I am a bit worried about the complexity of maintenance / availability of replacement parts for the custom parts.

I bought that one on AliExpress. Worked well for me.

I’m running 1x with full cable housing for the rear derailleur and hydraulic hoses, so I can’t comment on the front derailleur (I think some FD can accept full housing, but I’ve never installed one of those).

I did have to slightly drill out the removable plastic cable stop at the head tube to run full housing for the RD. I noticed the BB area had a removable contraption with a cable stop for the FD, but I didn’t pay much attention. So, I guess my comment is kinda useless, sorry :-)

+1 on all of the above. Personally, I would never buy from an AliExpress seller with a rating under 95%, and at least in business for a while. If something feels off, stay away! There are lots of good stores for wheels. I’ve just bought my second set of rims from speedsafe, for example. Elite Wheels seems good too.

Sorry, I was talking about a different frame (CFR-707). It's just that I had the same issue, so I thought I'd mention the 51.8/51.9/52.00mm bearing sizes (I first thought that my frame was out of spec, but I decided the generic bearings were not suitable).

Bearing do come in sizes that are 0.1mm different. My generic headset used 52mm bearings. The top bearing was super tight and I broke it the same way you did :-) Then I bought a Ritchey headset and the bearings were 51.8/51.9 (top/bottom). They slid right in.

One more pic, out in the forest.

You can get the CFR707 with external routing for the cables coming from a normal handlebar & stem. That’s what I did. I also built a road bike with internal routing (hydraulic & di2) and it’s such a pain for little gain.

I also got the CFR707 (see that thread). Love it!

Thanks! I think your analysis is right it’s a glossy dark gray. They just call it rainbow paint. It’s $125. I really like it  8)

Took the bike out on one of my favorite loops. Feels awesome! Great traction on steep climbs with loose dirt. Really zippy and comfy.

Some more frame specs:

Headset: IS52/28.6 | IS52/40 (I'm using a Ritchey comp cartridge headset: https://www.bike24.com/p2106612.html, https://www.bike24.com/p2510554.html)
Rear axle: 173mm M12*P1.5*L15 (carbonda's weighs 40g)
Front axle: 120mm M12*P1.5*L14 (carbonda's weighs 29g)

Seatpost wedge: 36g (I torqued to 5Nm + carbon paste around the part of the seatpost that contacts the round section of the seattube).
The seatpost head is a nice design, but definitely torque those bolts well (I went up to 8Nm with some loctite. They are mounted upside down. On my first ride I probably didn't tighten them enough and they came loose, but everything staid in place.)

Those are 40mm wide, as measured. Clearance is 63mm at the pinch point AFAICT, so 50mm is definitely fine even with lots of mud :-)

Some pics of my build. Waiting for headset & flatmount bolts. (I reused most parts from my previous build.)

Weights:

Frame size S, rainbow paint (including RD hanger, cable routing liners, bolts in every mount): 1274g
Fork painted & uncut (bolts in every mount): 562 g
Seatpost + head (350mm): 184 g
