Hi there,
Does anybody have info about DengFu's new M07 model?
http://dengfubikes.com/MTB_FRAME/245.html
It reminds me of the Scott Genius (<2017!), but with a FSR suspension system.
I am excited to find some info about it.
-
Hi again,
I just got an answer from DengFu, which says: "New model M07 is not available at this moment. We are just creating mold. I think first sample will be available at the end of March. I don't have much information about it now. Sorry!"
Si we will have to wait patiently.

It looks like they removed the information from their page so I guess that frame is pretty far from production.
-
I can still access the information.
-
You can access the info clicking on my link, but they removed the product link of their website.
The frame looks like a Spez Stumpjumper.
-
It is a sensible presentation.
-
I ask them from time to time about how does the project go. Last contact was 2 weeks ago, and they replied:
We are still producing, not finished yet.
I have to say, this is goig to be a tough choice betwwen Ican P9 and this one...
-
Finally first frames produced, only size 17'5, @2100g.
Two sizes of shock can be used, thanks to a 2 position link in the rocker arm.
The geometry still very interesting. They changed the name, though, to M8, so I updated the thread's name.
-
They need to get this one out asap.
-
Looks really good, makes me kinda wish I ordered this instead of the FM258!
-
where are you guys getting this info. when i look at the website i don't see any mention of the M08
-
I just got a reply in email. They are not going public with this frame because there is an interested party for their mold. Thus due to negotiations they cannot publicly list or sell the frame. They did do a run in size 17.5. You'll have to email directly to order. I just sent an email to query about pricing, etc.
-
Dang that looks nice. I wish more chiner manufacturers would post those more advanced calculations about shock travel and stuff.

Yea, the shape is great but the real beauty imo is the the weight, oh the weight! The travel and geo is right there with current gen bikes, so all is good. I just hope the price is right.
-
price is $690.
So quite in line with other manufacturers.
I just wish they had the 19" available :/
-
I was quoted 699, plus 80 ems shipping, and they want PP fees of 4.2%. WTF? Also, they only have 29er in 17.5 available.
-
Sorry I was mistaken, I got the same quotation. Other sellers have same paypal fee.
I got a quote for an Ican P9 and the EMS is 130usd.... when it used to be 65. They say EMS increased their cost.
If they had this M8 in 19" I would be really tempted to go for it against the Ican, but right now, NO 19" in production.
-
I had talked with them about this frame roughly 8-10 months ago, pre mold making. They actually asked if I saw anything with the original CAD drawing that I thought could use improvement. I had quite a few conversations with them prior about another bike. Anyways I told them that it needed a little more reach which it looks like they actually did correct. Or at least on their cad drawing.
I'll have to see if I still have the email with the initial cad drawing model that they sent me.
-
^^Cool story. I might order their 29er, not sure though as I was hoping to stay 27.5 since I have a decent supply of 27.5 rims/wheels.

I noticed Ican is sort pricing themselves higher and higher. Their P8 is at 800 bucks. It's starting to get close to closeout namebrand frames like Intense'''s Spider which is readily available for $1200. On the flip side I just got a BXT SL1 for 240 shipped. And the SL1 is a great cheap as heck road frame and it weighed only 950g.
-
I got a quote of USD 590 for the P9, plus 130 for EMS and 305 for the Rock Shox superDeluxe rc3 from Ican.

You sure about that? They list the P8 at $700, then add shipping. The P9 should be more expensive.

Make a direct contact to them. Aliexpress and, EBAY and other sources may have different prices, since each platform gets a % of the sale thus they increase the price.
I got a quote direct from them, and I am just waiting for an answer from Dengfu about when will the 19" M08 be available. Otherwise P9 it will be.

Exactly why I ended up on an Intense Recluse. Paid 1000.00 shipped for a 2017 frame. A couple hundred more than what Ican was quoting me for a P9.

So I'm looking at that TanTan site and the description says front derailleur D swing side pull, the cad drawing shows a little nib behind the the seat tube where a front mech would be attached but the pics of the frame don't have the nib and the shape of the set tube doesn't appear to be compatible with mounting a derailleur. Anyone know if it is 2 x compatible or not?
-
Deraileur mounts on the chainstay, just above the front pivot point
-
Has anyone actually received one of these frames yet? Either from dengfu, tan tan, or any other supplier.
I am interested to see a review of it, see what it looks like built up, what the bottom bracket height is etc.
-
Ordered the Tantan M08. Timing is a bit off for a Christmas present.
-
Looks like a cool frame. Hopefully we see some builds soon!

Thanks SSStu, I missed this reply.
Is it just me or does anyone else have concerns about a "mounting" point being built into such a small area of material around a pivot? It wreaks to me of introducing a failure / cracking point.
-
SSStu - I am also interested in that FM08 frame from Tantan. I am curious to hear your opinion when you receive it and start your build. Please keep us posted.
-
Build started! Things happen sloooowly here! ;D
So far, very impressed, as is the bike mechanic!
Lots of interest from bike shop customers!
More pics to follow
-
Cool. Finally a fm08 build. Keep up the posts.
What was the frame weight? What shock size did you get? According to the tan tan website, it suggests 4 different shock sizes are suitable. 210x55, 210x47.5, 200x57, 200x50. Is that your interpretation? When you get a wheel and tyre on there, I'd be interested to know the eye to eye at bottom out (i.e. when the tyre his the seat tube). Are you putting 27 or 29 inch wheels on it? Once you have a fork and wheels on it, I'd be interested to know the bottom bracket height.
-
Stu, any updates?
-
OK. Time for an update!
The build all went without a hitch, except for the dropper cable which took a bit of time. Mechanic was impressed!
19.5" Frame weight approx 2720g, excl shock
Build:
Rock Shox Pike RTC3 Debonair 130mm
Rock Shox Monarch RT3 Debonair 200x51 =135mm
XT M8000 crank, shifter, deraileur. 32T Chainring, 11-42 cassette
SLX M7000 Brakes
KS Lev 150mm Dropper
Chinese Carbon 30mm id wheelset
Whole bike is under 14kg
I'm running the flipchip in the steep position, as most of my riding is XC trail stuff, and very little high speed DH. I tried the slack position and had a lot of pedal strikes in the rooty singletrack we have here.
The suspension is amazing! I am yet to bottom it, and have almost stopped using the pedal position on the shock, mainly running it fully open. Sits high in its travel, and I'm plenty a lot of sag
This thing climbs technical climbs and fireroad climbs like goat on PEDs! and I'm not just saying that - check my Strava https://www.strava.com/activities/2286280767. This was a 70odd kilometre ride with 1200m of climbing, and I was comfortable all the way, even waiting for others.
The bike is long, and high, but then I compare that to my Giant Anthem with a 100mm fork which can't keep air in it ;D
It carries speed on the flats and downhills to the point I have to recalibrate my brain and is definitely fast!
I went with the 130mm fork because most of my riding is actually slow techy stuff, with the occasional fast bit thrown in. I think this thing would be awesome with long legs - 210x57 (155mm) shock and 150/160mm fork. We just don't have the riding to justify it here.
-
Awesome! Still waiting for mine to ship ...
Let's see some updated pics!
-
Sounds promising.
-
Ssstu,. Could you please share with us the bottom bracket height on your bike. Thanks
