The seat tube, seat stays and seat post look so different in these photo compared to the ones on your Facebook page. I have the confirmation. Maybe I'm the only one who got it wrong... This is the Superlight frame. It is designed for people up to a weight of I think 100 or 110 kilograms. The standard frame looks a bit different... that's probably the other shape that's been around. Visually, of course, it's really tasty again!

However, I finally ordered them because of the many reviews on AliExpress and the consistently positive image of EliteWheels on the Internet. At the last "Schools XXX - Sale" I bought the 65 for less than 500 Euros including shipping. Since they didn't keep up with the orders, I had to extend the production time so that the order wouldn't be cancelled. I am supposed to receive them in November. So assume a long wait when ordering. But since I don't need them until next spring, that was fine with me, in terms of specifications and price. I will report back on my experience! for your information. I ordered this morning the super-light version and I'm really looking forward to it. So far, I am very impressed with my contact: Wendy. Very very fast. Very professional and attentive. and she seems to have a clue. Also with my desired paint job, it was much easier and faster than with ICAN. My 65 Edge arrived yesterday.  I have weighed and inspected them directly. According to my kitchen scale 1,532 grams for 65 carbon wheels. Nice! Unfortunately, there was a fat scrape on the hub of the front wheel. The, the functionality does not affect, but is just stupid ... I have written directly to Elite and also already have feedback that they care about a solution. Otherwise, the first impression is really good. Processing seems to be visually top. The sound is very deep - it sounds really good. Tomorrow will be the first test drive!  Depending on how the test runs tomorrow and how Elite regulates the damage, I can very well imagine also a set for my climbing bike to acquire. Of course with a lower rim height. I test rode the wheelset with TPU tubes during a basic training session yesterday. I am impressed by the first impression. They really go forward. Very Stiff. And the sound is music to my ears. Of course I can't say anything about the long-term quality. But in terms of ride quality, they are in no way inferior to my Leeze CC50. Subjectively I would say that they give more propulsion - but that could just be the joy of the new one or the acoustic note of how the high rims cut the wind or the air... so no meaningful rating :-D September 25, 2023, 06:33:12 AM |

Elitewheels has now taken my suggestion of the $85. However, the process was strange: I was called twice by a number from England (I didn't answer) and then a manager contacted me via whatsapp to ask me to please close the dispute and he would then send me the requested money via paypal to resolve the matter. I replied that he should transfer the money to me first so that I am sure not to be ghosted. He agreed and explained that resolving disputes via aliexpress reflects badly on the company and that's why they try to resolve it outside. Apparently there's then trouble from aliexpress... The communication was very nice and courteous. I am satisfied - he transferred the money directly and I can ultimately recommend elitewheels. you just have to be persistent ;-) but that's not only the case with providers on aliexpress - but also in other life situations. ICAN A40 Build
Hello dear Chinertown community! I became aware of this forum in June because I wanted a new road bike but was not prepared to pay the high prices of the mainstream. I've learned a lot, discussed a lot and even shared a tip or two. Now I would like to present you my first build, which I finalised the day before yesterday. The first real ride will take place tomorrow. So far, it's only been a short adjustment ride of 15 km. Everything feels good and round. In this thread (http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,4254.msg46760.html#msg46760) I was looking for tips for my first build. After a long search through the forum and various manufacturers, I came across the ICAN A40 (identical in construction to the Cinelli Pressure), which I finally ordered. Here I was looking for the right wheels (http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,4325.msg49032.html#msg49032 . A separate thread about the wheels can now be found here: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,4444.msg50685.html#msg50685 ) ...and this is what has now emerged: Specifications (all prices rounded up): Frame incl. stem steering unit, headset, seatpost etc... (800 euros incl. tax and shipping). + custom paint (200 euros) shifting group incl. crank... etc... (Ultegra DI2 2x11 - 8050/8070 version - except chain and cassette and junction box, bought separately on ebay classifieds (used) - total approx. 700 Euro - parts look like new) Chain, cassette (11-30) and junction box (for in the handlebar plugs) NEW - 150 Euro Wheels: Elite Edge Disc 65 mm (500 Euro incl. tax and shipping) GP5000 tyres, 28 mm (I still had used ones at home) Carbon saddle (26 Euro / AliExpress / https://de.aliexpress.com/item/32961988965.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.121.7a255c5fpus40b&gatewayAdapt=glo2deu) Carbon bottle cage (14 Euro / AliExpress / https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005005266348973.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.151.7a255c5fpus40b&gatewayAdapt=glo2deu ) Miscellaneous (hydraulic brake line, handlebar tape, internal line damping, cable ties, rim tape, Wahoo holder... etc. - all AliExpress) (approx. 50 Euro) Currently still equipped with normal "heavy butyl hoses". 7.67 kg. Weight (without pedals, bottle cage and bike computer). But will be changed to TPU tubes as soon as they arrive from the Far East.
