About 2 years ago l posted about wanting a Supercaliber frame but most commentators thought that was never going to happen. They were right... Sort of. Looks like there will be Epic WC available. Pretty cool! I want one! Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! $950.00 | CUP Frameset XC Suspension Frame Bikes Mountain Cross Country Bikes Frame https://a.aliexpress.com/_msd8sFI
They look really nice but i keep hearing that they are rebadged clones of brakes that have been out for awhile. Some say they are indeed different.. Regardless the silver option looks really great
The name was changed to Lewis and l must say they look rad from promos in Insta. Clones of Trickstuff and hopefully they'll have their power too. The silver looks fantastic
Thats a huge bummer for the early buyers. I never go into buying one of these frames thinking this will be a great experience. Rarely do these companies know what customer service is. The crazy thing is these frames aren't that good of a deal anymore. On Ebay this frame starts at $1400. On AliExpress they're $800+ with $300 shipping. For that amount l can start looking for name brand
It seems like a really cool frame but not quite ready for prime time. I don't like the fact that the rear triangle is flexy and you got to order it special and I don't like the idea you can't use a coil or a lot piggyback shocks because they don't fit. Just right there, I'm bothered
So what head angle do all have? With my 120 mm Pike and Kenda booster tires. I have my head angle at 66°. Quite a bit off from the 68°. They have listed. It's cool. It saves me from buying an angle set
I have the Riot and enjoy it a lot. One of My favorite things about it is the fairly steep seat tube angle. Very comfy. Mine is a large and I have pretty light stuff on it other than the Pike, which isn't heavy by any means and my wheels which are around 1520 grams. Not heavy but not light in the bike world. My bike as it sits now is 27.3 pounds. Frankly, l don't know how to get it below 26. Sure freakishly expensive wheels, and a Sid wouldn't even bring it down that much. The point being is the Riot must not be that light of a frame. I really like mine but in the size large getting a 24 pounder or below is a no go if thats what you want
I am patiently and hoping that someday we'll have a Trek Supercaliber clone. Its a stretch, l know but maybe someday. They have Hightower clones, Spark clones, Stumpjumper clones for instance, so why not a Supercaliber? What do you all think?
