Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame First of all, thank you for all the exchanges that I have read on this forum since months. I have learned a lot and it made me take the step of building my own bike.

For information, the first bike I built was the Ican A22. This allowed me to get my hands on this construction. I will always remember the hours spent routing cables  ;D.

I wanted to change the frame and I read the first exchanges of this post. So, I set my sights on the Hygge Model S. I'll post updates on my build (Shimano 105 Di2) progress through to completion and give my thoughts on this bike after riding it.

The first messages of this post were really positive but the last messages have nuanced all your enthusiasm. I hope to receive my frame (and the wheels ordered from Hygge as well) within two weeks.

The only thing I can say now is that the seller is very responsive and has always answered my questions, which inspires seriousness despite the doubts expressed in other messages and compared to Winow. I will be sure to keep you informed when I will receive the frame and wheels.

Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame
I just received the frame. I will update regularly and debrief when it is assembled.

The package is well packaged and the setting and equipment are great.

For now, everything is perfect. I also ordered the wheels which were in the same package as the frame.

I am attaching some photos and the weight of the equipment in size M.

Communication with Hygge is perfect. They are very responsive and attentive.

Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame Here is a complete review of the bike: Size M (I am 178 cm tall)
- Handlebar 380x90
- Shimano Di2 groupset
-Wheels : Hygge Shun 40mm
- Saddle: Hygge too

The assembly went perfectly. I didn't encounter any problems.

First ride : I did a 105 km ride. My previous bike was an ICAN A22 and I definitely prefer the Hygge. The geometry of the bike suits me perfectly and I find it much more comfortable and stiff at the same time. Furthermore, the color of the frame is magnificent. The bike controls very well on descents and responds very well on climbs and restarts and is very fast.

I had no problem with the saddle slipping (I had used carbon paste) with a tightening of 5.5 N.m. My saddle is also Hygge and I find it perfect for me too.

In summary, I absolutely do not regret having sold my ICAN A22 for Hygge. I find it better in every way and the contact with the manufacturer is exceptional. They answered all my questions. In short, I highly recommend it.

I will post pictures in another post.

Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame
So you got the headset with the silver flexible top cone? The one with the smal (1mm) compression gap?

Those components in red. I don't have the bottom part full closed likes on your second picture.

Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame
What torque are you guys using on the seat clamp?

6,4 N.m  in order to avoid slipping.

Re: TPU vs Latex innertube
From Bicycle Rolling Resistance:

"Using latex inner tubes in tubeless tires is nearly as fast as setting them up tubeless. The most significant performance penalties are the higher weight of the inner tube and the loss of the re-sealing in case of a puncture that tubeless sealant in tubeless tires offers."

Sidenote: I ordered an electronic pump from Cycplus' latest update of pumps: E-Pump AS2 Pro. Offers up to 5 inflations at 80 PSI, and weighs less than two Co2 cartridges and inflator combined. To me this is the final nail in the coffin to running tubeless for road.

First of all : Everytime you answer to a post, it is like God is talking to me ;D .

This Electronic pump is pretty expensive and I think that the price will be cheaper in the future. Moreover, you have to don't forget to charge it regularly (picture).

Re: Elitewheels Edge wheelset
Thank you RoadieMKD for reply.

I've contacted Elitewheels via Aliexpress app and they said if i use "Sellers Shiping method" (pay more 75,98€) then i will not pay VAT and also the delivery is faster. Yes, i have a discount code that will save 120$ on orders over 599$, so in total i'll pay 505,3$ for this 65mm wheelset (aniversary discont sale included).

About tires.. Rear i use 28mm tire, in front i have 25mm, continental gp5000 (not tubeless, i'll use RideNow TPU superlight innertubes). This Elite Edge rim width is 28mm, can i use my 25mm tire on this rim with no problems?

It was the same for me. I am from Europe and the shipping is with DPD.

Re: Elitewheels Edge wheelset
Does anyone use rim strips with this wheelset? I really struggle to choose proper width. The specs say the wheels have inner width of 21mm. I bought and installed Ritchey 17mm rim strips thinking covering just the middle bent area will be enough as one only really need to cover the holes for nipples. But now thanks to that bending the strip sticks out a little and I am affraid it's sharp edges may damage inner tubes and cause flats. Maybe I should buy wider strips but how wide exactly? I don't want them to get in the way with the tyre beads.

I use the rime tape which came with the wheels. It is 25 mm wide.
