Title: 256SL Frame * with problem *
Post by: Arraider on April 18, 2016, 09:39:22 AM
I'm selling my 256SL frame from Xmiplay. 15 months old. Purchased new, one owner. It has a problem on the wishbone as you can see by the photos below. There is an apparent crack all around the wishbone, in some places below the finishing and others above it. It is repairable as I'm told.

BB: BB30
Size: 17.5
Colour: Black matte no graphics
Price: sold to the best offer (realist offers off course)
Extras: protected with helicopter tape. Besides the obvious, only very little scratches from normal use, barely visible. Delivered with seatclamp and dropout from Xmiplay.
Location: Portugal, EU (no customs problem for people in EU)
Weight: 1kg

Didn't you get a warranty replacement?

I've repaired a chainstay of my 256 that was hit by a kind of blade.
Using this kit: http://www.easycomposites.co.uk/#!/starter-kits/fishing-pole-repair-kit.html
My crack was looking quite worse than yours.

It was very easy and fast to do, like applying band aid.
The fix did hold strong during thousands of km.

But finally I felt badly again, this time a seatstay broke in 3 pieces.
I tried again recently, but unfortunately it is impossible to repair.

it hasn't arrived yet, but yes, i got a warranty frame and kept this one (they did not want the old one). My idea was to either have it repaired and sold or sell to anyone so they can repair themselves. At least reducing the costs of the new frame, shipping and customs again (yes i'm gonna have to pay for it again, the same amount as the 1st time).

But now i'm really tempted to fix it myself, i love this kind of shit  ;D

How is it a warranty replace when you have to pay for it? Doesn't make sense.

apparently the only way not to pay customs again was to send the frame to China. Makes little to no sense, but what to do...  :P

Did you have to pay for the replacement frame, or just shipping and customs?
