Re: Carbonda FM909 I used Wise (formerly transferwise) for a bank transfer to Yoeleo. Very low cost and fast.

Re: Hydraulic brake hose I’m using BH90 equivalent hose from Kingstop Cycling World (https://a.aliexpress.com/_m0X1h41). Also got the hose connecting bolt, olives and pins from them.

All in all it works well. Once caveat when installing: you have to place the olive roughly in the right spot when you push the pin in. With the pin inserted, the olive won’t slide onto that part anymore. I don’t remember having that problem with genuine shimano bh90 hose.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame Anything clamping on carbon: incrementally increase torque up to max. The goal is to make sure it’s tight. You may not need to go up to max torque for that.

On my seatpost, for example, I’m around 4Nm with some carbon paste on the post (take a look at the recent canyon aeroad threads of why perhaps that’s not always a good idea, depending on the design). Go very easy on bottle cages / computer mounts (rivnuts in carbon). Use loctite so that you can stay under 2Nm without risking losing a bottle cage mid ride :-)

Any clamp with multiple bolts: make sure to tighten both bolts evenly and gradually.

Otherwise, I follow these torque specs: https://www.bikeride.com/torque-specifications/

Re: Yoeleo R11 - di2 "budget" build To get back to the original topic, I finally got to go for a real ride today. Really happy with how it turned out! Some climbing (558m), some gravelly/muddy forest roads (underbiking ftw) and lots of asphalt. Comfortable on rougher ground (although maybe that’s the 32mm tires at 35/38 psi), and fast to accelerate & climb. Great complement to my gravel bike.

Two realizations:
- you really have to torque the seatpost head to 6Nm. Even with friction paste, my saddle flipped up when I went over a bump at speed. More hilarious than painful, but still. Increased torque and it hasn’t budged since.
- I’m not the biggest fan of how the handlebar clamps to the steerer. I guess I should’ve known to loctite the screws, but I haven’t had the bolts on other stems loosen like that. You also need two allen keys to tighten... The other issue is with the topcap. The H9 is compatible with 1-1/4 steerers, so the 1-1/8 topcap they shipped actually just fits through the handlebar unless you add a spacer. Will replace it as I don’t think it’s a very clean look for an integrated handlebar to have a spacer “wart” like that…

Re: Carbonda Gravel Carbon frame CFR707 I just put down a deposit for the frame version that takes an externally routed handlebar (US$495.00 with frame, fork, seat post, clamp). Sharing the diagram Wing sent me that shows the routing. Getting a headset for regular round spacers. Oh, and the flatmount bolts in the rear should be for 20mm chainstay width (so, 33mm).

By the way, interesting to see how close the geo is to the Canyon Grizl and Devinci Hatchet. Excited for some more modern geo & axle standards for my current gravel bike (built around an octane one kode frame, which has been fun but a bit limited).

(It's US$650.00 with the CGB02 integrated handlebar.)

Re: Forum name? FWIW, I thought your question is valid and was formulated thoughtfully and respectfully. We should at least be able to talk about these things, no?

Re: Help with Belt Drive System The final drive ratio isn’t specific to belts and sprockets. The same one you’d use for regular cogs and chains will work. IIRC the gates spreadsheet has something for the drive ratios.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-177 Congrats on the new frame! Enjoy the build and many happy rides!

PS: I regret posting the weight of my frame and build earlier. Weight is an easy metric to compare, but I don't think a few hundred grams (or even a few kgs) are very relevant to the joy of building and riding. Cycling should be accessible to all, and a focus on weight (and thus expense) probably scares away newcomers.

Re: Recommendation for tools on Aliexpresse: disc brake bleed kit and rotor tool I've used the ezmtb bleed kit with no problems on my shimano shifters & calipers. Recommended.
For truing discs, I just push them with my (degreased) finger  8)
