Re: ZRace Disc Brakes How are everyone's BR-05 callipers holding up? I am really regretting buying mine... They have been performing worse and worse as time goes by.
They actually only performed good the first few weeks.
On yesterday's ride i had almost no braking in the back and the front brake was really pulsating. The front fork was vibrating a lot...

I have taken them off yesterday evening, bled them and replaced the pads even though they were not worn out. I am regretting spending the money on them and am contemplating just getting GRX800 shifters/brakes/derailleur.

Edit: Well I decided it is time to stop being frustrated with these dangerous Chinese brakes and started to order the GRX 800 parts... Should be around 400eur for the GRX 800 brifters 812 derailleur and I found some unused cheap 105 calipers to go with that...

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Great finds. Been noticing this trend on Amazon and eBay. Is it that Ali-ex is getting expensive or Amazon cheaper? Nothing beats Amazon's convenience. Placed an order for cassette. I would have ordered the ospw too but there's no R6800 compatible one on sale.

Ali has gotten A LOT more expensive in the last few years (50-100% more)... Free shipping has also become more and more scarce...

Re: Flyxii FE-02 Build
Which Ltwoo Rear mech are people considering? I've got a full 105 hydro set to transfer but wanted a bigger rear cassette (11-40) what should I consider?

Just stay with shimano. You can get a GRX 812 rear derailleur.

Re: Flyxii FE-02 Build
ZNIINO bars came in today. Look good and feel plenty strong enough. One step closer to having to pick a drivetrain.

Be careful tightening the stem cap. I cracked that handlebar with that...

Re: Rinasclta Granite Aero "All Road" Bike Frameset Never mind, I found your story about the painting process. Maybe sanding with 1500-2000 was a little too fine for the primer?

I found this: "600 to 800 Grit – This sandpaper grit range is perfect for sanding surface imperfections in the primer, prior to paint application. It is recommended to start at the low grit end and work your way up to 800 grit. "

Re: Rinasclta Granite Aero "All Road" Bike Frameset
So the frame is actually split in half between two different colors

Top half of the frame: 3 coats of chameleon green/purple paint.
Bottom half: 3 coats of clear 3D effect glitter paint.
Entire frame: 3 coats of SprayMax 2K clearcoat.

None of colors used nor the clearcoat required even a full can of paint, respectively. Granted, I purposely wanted the raw carbon finish to bleed through the color. For perspective, when I painted my VB-168 in white paint, it required full two cans of paint. Just barely enough paint in fact.

No sanding required at all. Automotive vehicles don't get sanded went painted at the factory, so I haven't seen the value in it. Proper technique and good prep work will alleviate the need to sand anyway. Also it's winter time here so it's very cold outside. I would keep the paint cans sitting in a bucket of hot water between coats, to keep the paint warm. This has been biggest gamechanger to prevent both orange peel and paint drip.

Coat #1 - Light spray so the paint sticks.
Coat #2 - Moderate spray for coverage.
Coat #3 - Slow, full, and deliberate paint spray in close proximety to the frame. This is the coat which you start seeing the gloss build up. Both for the paint and the clearcoat.

Thanks man. Do you happen to have some close-up pictures of the frame so we can better see how it turned out?

Re: Rinasclta Granite Aero "All Road" Bike Frameset Etoe advises about 10min. Do not let it dry! When it's dry he says you have to sand before the next layer.

Re: Chasing Wind GT20 Gravel Frame build
Thats a critical area of the handlebar, which is a critical area of the bike itself. The stem will put a lot of stress there from clamping on. That's the last place you want to weaken.

Indeed. I had a similar handlebar and after tightening the faceplate of the stem there was a very small crack right next to the faceplate (could even have been the paint...) and I scrapped the handlebar.
You are already taking a gamble with these handlebars. No need to try your luck any further...
