Re: WheelTop EDS TX Full Wireless Groupset (Chinese SRAM) Linsook.  Welcome to the club.   Weather permitting, I will start riding my gravel bike 100+miles a week.  Get yours going soon, so we can collect data, present it, and show those ltwoo er9 owners that Wheeltop has the better product!   ;D

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Same here I've only broken chains, but I've never broken a quick link be it Shimano or even the cheap ones. The SUMC and Rider Ace quick links can be bought in bulk. They seem to have a shorter use life, but you can have like 50 of them for not much money.
I have been purchasing the Rider-Ace quick link 5 packs when they are on sale for $1.79 or $1.99.  I have a few in use, and none have had any issues.  This being written:  My usual chain routine is...   When I install a new chain, I use the supplied quick link (Usually KMC chains) to first set up the bike.  The quick link that comes with the chain gets installed and removed 2-3 times, but not ridden under load.   After the chain is the correct length, I remove the new chain, clean it, immersive wax it and then final install it on the bike.   Then I leave the chain on the bike, regularly adding liquid wax.   After it starts to look dirty, I remove the chain, clean it and immersive wax it again. (I do this 3-4 times a year.)  When I install the chain back on the bike, I use a Rider-Ace quick link.   On average, I end up replacing my chains about 1 to 1.5 years.  Therefore, I go through 2-3 Ride-Ace links per chain on a bike.   I've been consuming around 8 to 10 Ride-ace links per year.

Re: WheelTop EDS TX Full Wireless Groupset (Chinese SRAM) I am just under 200 miles on my EDS TX installation.  To date, the system has worked really well other than taking some time to get used to the RH shift paddles.  As the shifting becomes more natural, I am making fewer and fewer mis-shifts.
My EDS TX is installed on my gravel bike. Each of my rides typically has 2500+ ft of climbing for every 20 miles ridden.  These rides are shift intensive, so if I am going to have any problems, they will show up sooner than later.

So far....  Thumbs up!

OTOH, I have about 1500 miles on my EDS OX (1X 12) bike-packing hardtail without any issues over the past 9 months.  I have less than 100 miles each on the EDs OX hardtail and FS bike.   This past weekend, my Full suspension bike really took a beating over 2 days of riding, and the OX rear derailleur worked flawlessly.

I definitely give a thumbs up for the EDS OX kit.

Re: WheelTop EDS TX Full Wireless Groupset (Chinese SRAM) 2 days ago, I swapped out my crank set that uses 50 - 34 chainrings to a new set of cranks with 48-32 chainrings.   I shortened my chain my a link, lowered the front derailleur then performed a new calibration on the app for the front derailleur.   Now that I am very familiar with using the WheelTop app, this process went very smoothly.  I had to re-tune 4 of the rear cogs.   Took the bike out for a 17 mile, 1,500 feet of climbing test ride.   I am becoming used to the shifters and had no "human error" mis shifts.

The more I ride the EDS TX, the more I like it.  (After about 220 miles on the new kit, plus the shifting during my latest tuning, the front derailleur says 77%, rear derailleur is at 71% battery charge.)

Re: WheelTop EDS TX Full Wireless Groupset (Chinese SRAM)
How much have you guys paid for it? I heard on youtube someone paid around 400 dollars (he's canadian but i would still assume USD) but I've never seen it anywhere near that price
My hydraulic brake,  carbon lever kit cost $620, minus $80 off anniversary sale coupon, minus store coupon for around $20, for a total of $522 with free shipping.

Edit: I read that the aluminum, rim brake version, was purchased for closer to $400 during the sale, but there weren't many of those kits for sale and they sold out fast.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! I no longer have any cables on any of the bikes I ride other than my dropper post cable.  Hydraulic brakes and Electric wireless shifting eliminated the need for those cute little plugs...

How are you liking the Wheeltop for gravel? Are you okay not having a clutch? I'm not sure I want to chance going electronic on my gravel bike. If the groupset dies, I'm usually on more remote mountain trails. I am debating converting my other road bike also to electronic. Contrary to other user experiences, my ER9 has been working perfect. Though I wouldn't mind trying the Wheeltop groupset as well.

Since my gravel bike is a 2 X 12, the old rear derailleur didn't have a clutch.  The new EDS TX rear derailleur works the same as I am used to on a 2X set-up.   To date, one of my 1 X 12 EDS OX rear derailleurs, the battery lasted over 5 days of very heavy shifting usage. (Approx 600 miles.)

On my 2 X 12 EDS TX on my gravel bike, the longest ride to date has been 80 miles, and the battery dropped by about 10%.  I suspect I can get 800+ miles, with lots of shifting and still have battery power left.  One thing that bugs me a little on the TX rear derailleur is that the magnetic recharge contact and rubber sealing boot are on the back side of the battery.  I have a difficult time trying to blindly get the charging cable to sit flush and charge the battery.  I end up flipping the bike up in the air so I can look through the rear wheel spokes and get the charging cable aligned so it will charge the battery.
(3 charges to date:  Initial charge,  One when the battery was down by 20% after initial set-up/shift trimming, and then one time when the battery was at 60% and I was going to ride 90+ miles, but this ride was cut short to 45 miles due to snow on the road.)

Re: WheelTop EDS TX Full Wireless Groupset (Chinese SRAM) Prepped last night for a longer ride today.  Bike shifted fine. App stated 90% battery for both batteries.   Today, started my ride and the front derailleur wouldn't shift, Rode the about 60 miles in the small chainring.    When I got home, I removed the CR2032 button battery.  Voltage measured .87 volts.  Installed a new battery and all is well.  I recommend replacing the "Lynkcell" brand CR2032 battery with high quality Batteries.   Who would think that with only 500 miles on the EDSTX kit, the button battery would be bad.

Re: WheelTop EDS TX Full Wireless Groupset (Chinese SRAM) Except....   Yes, they come with prefilled mineral oil, but my rear hydraulic hose was about 80mm to short, for my bike, so I had to put on a longer hydraulic hose and completely bleed the rear caliper/lever chamber.
